Looks terrible. DL should keep him.

To elaborate, they even put Elizabeth Edwards, the WIFE of a senator on the list. I am not sure about Mazie. She seems pretty healthy in Committee and on the Senate Floor, or at least healthy enough to speak straight and make arguments on the floor. What will be an indication is if she actively campaigns for re-election to her Hawai'i senate race. If she doesn't, she should definitely be on the committee's radar. I highly doubt 3 senators (McCain, Cochran, and Hirono) will be on the list, let alone 2. But they're certainly worth looking into for the DL and the DDP.

Who'll go first? McCain or Cochran? McCain is getting more frail by the day but he can easily go on a year from his initial diagnosis if he treats his illness right and rests, not constantly going on rants about "order" in the United States Senate (Personally I hope he continues though, his opposition to Trump and the establishment GOP establishment is much needed in an era of a republican trifecta in both houses of congress and the WH) Meanwhile, Cochran's ailment seems urgent but if it is Alzheimer's, it may linger for quite a long time depending on when he was diagnosed. I think McCain will go in May 2018 and that Cochran will go in September 2018.

Helen DeVos, political financier, and mother-in-law of Education Sec. Betsy DeVos dies at 90. Husband Rich is alive at 91 and certainly more obitable.

John McCain was a notable war "hero" from the 1970's from being trapped in Hanoi. He was elected to the senate in 1986 and was a pretty well respected and known member. As previously states, he ran in 2000. Of course he rose to enormous national status in 2008 but he was well known to any american who payed attention to their nation's politics. In other words, he was just as well known as Dole, senior us senators with a status as "war hero" by the general public.

Benedict 16 will be #16. Edit: realized that pun was already used. god damnit.

Eh. I thought he'd leave around October, I immediatley regretted excluding him from my Shadow List when I realized I forgot him. Anyways. Congratulations to the committee for breaking their record at an astonishingly early pace. I doubt a record set this fast could happen again, at least for a while.

Rumor has it that Newt Gingrich had a stroke while typing this tweet.

Comparison from a picture just from April. Treatmemt has definitely taken a toll. You can see it in her hair, her pale complexion, and her eyes. Barely looks like the woman she was 6 months ago.

This year reminds me of 2015. Lots of deadpool and deathlist hits but no major deaths. I hope somebody big goes so Hugh Hefner and Helmut Kohl aren't the biggest hits of the year!
-
Are you sure? I've gotten into at least two arguments on this exact site and they claimed Dawn died later than Booth. What's the truth?

Liz died early on the 26th if I recall correctly.

Just when we smelled retirement HRC considering professor role at Columbia University.

Scenario: Thad Cochran has alzheimer's and that's why his health is failing? It's a reach but a possibility.
-
If somebody manages to find this guy and get him to leak some of those congressmen that would be nice.
-
First bad news she's had in a while. Looks like the beginning of the end for her. The committee needs to keep her om next year!
-
Is it an ominous sign that her poorly developed "blog" has had a break in shamanist bullshit recently? Maybe she's off her meds, only people with cancer meds constantly being pumped into them are high enough to scribble up what she posts.
-
I hope he makes the list next year so new members can see the absolute shitshow that the first page of this thread is whenever they open his thread.
-
Only knew him from the speculation that he would run for TN Senate in 2018. Scary thought.

Does Olu Dara have a health issue? He can definitely get the daily mail obit if so ; However, he's only 76 right now.

Looks like Van Der Laan was a hit for me and a few others.
-
Since it's a foregone conclusion that he'll pass Reagan, do we think he can beat Ford?
-
Doesn't take down the fact that he was definitely famous enough and old enough for the deathlist. no reason not to have him.

Huge miss for the committee. Always wonder why they consistantly abstain from adding him, he's much better than at least 15-20 of the picks on this year's list!
