I guess if they're not a member of the National Party or some corporate banking type, you're not interested. Might be a few reasonable Cup picks from those Boards of Directors you sit on though.

John Cocks gone, so Torva bags some points: https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/110440777/popular-tv-show-builder-john-cocksy-cocks-has-died

Hit number 2: John Cocks. No problems for a QO: LINK
-
As most are aware, Andrew McGahan has died. He's obviously gained an ANZAC QO: LINK LINK
-
That's sad. Found him really funny and certainly had clear principles.

dead Who puts the red "dead" tag when someone dies?
Heef replied to The Red Death's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Someone no doubt in need of some redemption. -
Probably marginally better than negatively shitting oneself.

Hoping for a 2nd round tie against John Key. I’ve always wanted the opportunity to take that berk down a peg or two. Now, only he and I need to deliver. #KiwiGrudgeMatch

Ideally need a DOB for the sprog, rather than '5 weeks old' at some particular point. His age won't make any difference though in this case, so that'd be 15 point for him. The Schneiderlin article is definitely more of the real deal, but it does use that instagram thing as the basis for it, which is a little cheeky. As this isn't being run for a second time, I'm ambivalent about setting a precedent with respect to which sources are acceptable or not. He'd be 10 points, knock yourself out.
-
The Cavendish link appears to be from 2015 and your link to Schneiderlin is of very dubious quality, even though he's clearly had a sprog. Either way doesn't change the result, just bragging rights over the scoreline.
-
Couldn't find a news article (Instagram ain't news) to support Schneiderlin, but you could add in another 15 points for that for Predictor if you can... So. Final scores on the doors: 1. Predictor - 155 points 2. Sean - 55 points 3. Handrejka - 15 points Super, smashing, great. Predictor takes home the trophy and the plaudits. Just wondering now where the news headlines are about the sickos predicting celebrity gravidity.

Great summary of the history from msc there. Still gutted I was knocked out by a Kiwi in 2017. Bloody Earl Hagaman.

Opening post updated. I think it's fair to say that Australian tennis and (perhaps) Sydney are over-represented in the list. I count 13 (26%) New Zealanders, 37 (74%) Australians. New Zealand represents ~16.4% of the population of the combined weight of Australia and New Zealand, so from that point of view perhaps New Zealand is slightly over-represented too. On a population basis, perhaps only 8 New Zealand reps would be expected. Anyway, there's the team. We'll see what happens.
-
Number 51 on the list was "Superstar" Bill Dundee. Scottish born, but Australian raised before moving to the US at the age of 31.
-
Ah. Bollocks. That's the trouble with how I'd used Excel to tally the numbers. I'll have to go back and extract #51.
-
Given the haphazard nature of this list's assembly, if all the panel of experts have missed is Helen Reddy, then that's not a bad outcome. But fair call, her name should have been in the mix.
-
Reg Watson was @CaptainChorizo's pick. I had assumed that he'd gone for the television producer who is a much more well known name outside of Australia. Indeed, it could even be the illustrious Professor of Fisheries at UTAS.

Thought Bob Hawke might have made the Drop 40, but seems a reasonable way off in the end.

So... What Games Are You Playing?
Heef replied to the_engineer's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I've had a computer since 1984 and each generation of computers has had its own classics. From Rescue on the Spectrum through Time Bandit on the Atari ST/Amiga or Star Control 2 on MSDOS through to Doom 2 or Duke Nukem 3D in the later 90s and Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal in the early 2000s. These days, I don't get the time to play as much, but I did think Mass Effect 2 was right up there in terms of the best games I've played. RDR2 as a more recent thing does look fantastic and has a good plot line, but there's a lot of shite filler in there too. -
Whoop! Theme Team league winner! Good game, excellently run. Really good to read some of the updates. Thanks, Spade.
-
Count me in. Wouldn’t miss it.
-
You were pretty good at this, Predictor. I'll tally up all the scores over the next day or so, but I think it's probably reasonably clear who won already.
-
Anyone else keen to send me a list of 50 Australian and/or New Zealand celebs to compile into an "ANZAC List" should do so soon. I've only had two entries thus far, and that's probably not worth combining into a list!
