Right-leaning comedians are rather pushed to the background, yeah. I do know one comedian (who I won’t name) who thinks Norcott is a prick even before he gets political, no idea whether that’s a widely held view but if it is that could explain his relative silence? I might be wrong here as I don’t watch it, but doesn’t he appear on Mash with Kumar? As for Lee Hurst, I saw him last year. His set didn’t get political once and it was brilliant! But yes, he did go fucking mad and he still kind of is. In real terms though, there’s not actually that many known right-wingers in comedy nowadays. But then a huge number of comics are Poxbridge educated so largely hold pretty uniform views

Oh yes, they‘ve not been bias-free for as long as I can remember, but particularly since the build up to the last election their political team have been in the fucking toilet. As msc said, the comedians lampooning the right is a by-product of most of them being left-leaning, but also probably because whoever is governing is clearly going to be more likely to absorb any satirical flak. Especially now Labour has gotten rid of the nutty bastard who was at the helm during the last couple of elections. Though I completely agree with you about Nish Kumar. That show is all about his agenda, it’s not satire and it’s sure as fuck not funny, not even to a (slightly) left-leaning shit eater like me I have always been a fan of Maitlis’ style however, and, though at times she has let her own views peek through the BBC’s apparent anti-bias shield (predominantly on social media), this case on Newsnight is not one of them. She was merely stating facts and questions that need to be answered!

I think very few people do at the moment

Absolutely fucking raging about this. The BBC’s DG and his politics department aren’t fit to lick her boots. This is what they describe as a breach of their ‘impartiality’ guidelines: So this is unacceptable, and yet Laura Kuenssberg can openly frig herself off whenever Johnson’s about and act as a cheerleader for Cummings, making up sources to aid his side of the story? And Andrew Neil can carry on doing his thing despite being on the Barclay Brothers’ payroll? Largely I love the BBC but when it comes to politics they can cunt off.

134 is today’s number. That’s points for me, Crem, Buffalo, Paddy, The Unknown Man and The Unknown Man. Exu guessed twice as well. First guess is in the points but their second isn’t. Wednesday: 330

I would definitely recommend Octopus. Very good customer service, low prices, controllability of your direct debits etc online and if you submit a meter reading online once a month you can spin a wheel for a prize (up to £512).

As if us calling bollocks to Cummings’ story needed any more to go on, his wife Mary wrote this account of her and Dominic falling ill: So she says Dominic collapsed 24 hours after her. He said yesterday he was driving up the motorway at that point. -
Deathlist Dreaming

This thread has reminded me of a really weird one I had a couple of weeks ago. I dreamt I had an alt account on here called ‘Chairman Lmao’ that was made a moderator. Lots of people (Toast was the most vocal about this) suspected this Chairman Lmao was in fact TQR so I had a huge, elongated blow up on here with TQR. Then it just turned into me properly trolling TQR (the fact that this was me was somehow lost in the narrative), setting its rank thing to my real name, the avatar to a drunk picture of me and my location to my actual address. I genuinely woke up with my heart beating several times it’s normal rate. -

And yet, most absurdly, Gove and Johnson are sticking with it! Gove this morning said to LBC’s Nick Ferrari (prick) that he, too, has gone for a test drive to check his eyesight. As if repeating this really odd idea would somehow make it more plausible. And Johnson yesterday, in his briefing, said it’s “very very plausible” because since being ill he now has to wear specs for the first time, despite telling the Maily Dail 6 years ago that he’s “blind as a bat”. I’m laughing as I type this, it’s so fucking daft. -

Welcome to Barnard Castle -
Yeah sorry, my wording could’ve been clearer. Edited. In the grand scheme of things were 3rd, close with Spain’s 2nd.

You suppose wrong. According to this, anyway. I have seen one source that states it’s worse in Belgium. Irregularities innit.

UK’s confirmed Covid deaths per million is currently the worst in the world.

Yep. I've never heard such drivel in all my life. And the fact that he'll keep his job after all this is sickening. -

If he wasn’t confident he could drive safely, why did he put his 4-year-old in the car with him and drive for an hour to Barnard fucking castle? Why is none of this trip to Durham in either his or his wife’s Spectator columns? Why is feeling a bit ill and having a child to worry about such an ‘exceptional circumstance’ when tens or hundreds of thousands have gone through exactly the same thing? Why was Johnson only told any of this yesterday? (obvs that’s bollocks) Why did he go back to work when his wife had clear symptoms of the virus? He mentions many media reports of him being fake - which ones? What ABBA song was it he was caught dancing to in his parents garden? -

This caught my eye on Betfair earlier. Worth a flutter for 50/1?
