Arnie Ferrin, who played for the Minneapolis Lakers (1948-1951), has died aged 97. With the Lakers he won the NBA Championship in 1949 and 1950.

Suffered medical emergency yesterday, condition unknown.

He has posted a message on Instagram here. I think the family are talking bollocks. He is clearly not a well man and deteriorating fast. When this downturn initially came about yesterday his family denied completely and yet here we are again with another apparent deterioration. Maybe he’ll go within hours, perhaps within a week. I don’t think he’ll make it to 2023.
