Peter Sutherland, the 19th Irish Attorney General (1981-1982), has died aged 71. He also served as European Commissioner for Competition under Jacques Delors from 1985-1989, during which time he was the youngest ever European Commissioner. Perhaps not for 2019, but one to maybe consider for your long lists. Tessa Dahl, author, actress and daughter of Roald Dahl, is not doing too well. She is appearing in a US court next week facing up to 5 years in prison for theft. The article mentions her struggles with alcohol and drug addiction.
