If his daughter lives in NYC as stated on the Facebook profile it's still only 6:45am there, could be perfectly reasonable they were waiting until later today to make the announcement. IBTimes has probably sat on that for as long as they feel comfortable with and is pushing to get some form of confirmation or denial.

    List Of Dead Commies

It has only recently been announced that Stanislav Petrov, a Soviet Lieutenant Colonel, died back in May of this year. He was profiled by the BBC, and we all have him to thank as when the Soviet radar showed that the USA had launched a nuclear attack in 1983, he judged the reports to be false and the technology faulty - a decision which is said to have prevented an erroneous retaliation by the Soviet Union. Edit: The Independent, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, The Sun, Daily Telegraph, The Times, Guardian, BBC obituaries.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Barring an obituary from The Daily Express to use him as a role model for how all muslims ought to live their lives, or perhaps one from The Guardian I'm not certain he'll get one. Don't think his story has been followed at all in the UK media.
