I hate to say this, but it was a smart move by Nigel Farage to only put Brexit Party candidates where Conservatives didn't win last time. It meant that at least 1k or 2k votes went to them which meant there being sometimes a loss for Labour of only 1k or even a few hundred.

Lib Dem and they ended up in second place where I live.

Not dead but certainly Conservatives are in Windsor & Maidenhead (TM constituency is in Maidenhead). They came third in EU elections: Brexit Party - 13,289 Liberal Democrat - 12,769 Conservative and Unionist Party - 5,496 Bare in mind I live near here and it's been Conservative stronghold for as long as I can remember.
