agreed, it's in the trash, where the person who posted it lives Good call, Cowboy Ronnie. I can't understand the motivations of some people. That was just sick.

This is gross and shouldn't be on here.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death... 2006

etc? Maybe that's the real reason his show is called 'Ray Mears Bushcraft'. indeed! Well, it is a desert island. What's a girl to do?? Anyway, I'm changing my mind, I think I'd rather have Christian Slater as my luxury item. I'm sure he's good at survival skills too. I still can't choose the music though, although I very much liked Lady Die's response to this and will follow her lead!! -

I've been trying to play ' Desert Island Discs ' for a long time now, but can't quite get my list down to eight records. For those who don't know, you get to take only eight records ( singles ) with you to the island, plus one book and a luxury item. I think you're also given the complete works of Shakespeare too. Anyway, I can cheat and select eight albums, but I can't quite get the eight singles. I mean, they'd be the ones you would have to listen to forevermore! I know I'd have some Beatles in there, but how to choose??? So, can any of you select your Desert Island Discs? It really does keep you busy. By the way, I know what my luxury item would be.... Ray Mears he could make me a lovely shelter, select the right plants/berries/wildlife to eat, make me a boat... etc. -
I've read ' We Need To Talk About Kevin ' and found it uncomfortable to read, due to it being so realistic. It is very well written and hits hard.

Nice idea in theory, would never work in practice. What motivation is there for the intelligent/hard workers if they know all their efforts will just go to benefit the stupid and lazy? So instead we use an economic system in which the stupid are made to work hard for the intelligent and lazy. It ought to make sense, but I'm afraid I'm too stupid to get it. regards, Hein Excellent come-back.

I've ordered American Gods, so should have it in a couple of days. I'll let you know what I thought of it after I've read it.... obviously.

I'm a Unitarian Universalist ( 100%) Okaaay. I'm with Magere Hein in describing myself as an atheist, so I don't know where that Uniwotsiting Unithingimibobby came from! -
My two nephews were little kids when the Power Rangers was a huge hit, and I had to suffer it whenever they came to stay. That Rita was soooo annoying, I guess that was the point though, so well done her!! My nephews are both fathers now, so I hope something equally terrible is watched 24/7 by their children in a couple of years time!

Very good. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him ....... ( here we go...) A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis. (Sorry, got that one off a Cheesy Jokes website. Very cheesy indeed. )

I have to admit that I've now given up on it in favour of Philip Pullman's ' The Ruby in the Smoke'. It's a book for young teenagers I think, but it's more interesting than that Parsons one. I read the whole ' His Dark Materials ' collection a couple of years ago, and that was very well written. Are you Pratchett fans, Lady G / BHB / TLC? I've read a lot of the DiscWorld stuff and it is usually quite funny. I've also read his works for children ( my excuse is that I'm a teacher and I need to keep up to date...). I'm not a Pratchett ' Trekkie ' though, like some people I have had the misfortune to meet! " You need to read the books in order, and then you can learn about all of the characters of the DiscWorld as Pratchett intended, in order of appearance...blarr...garble....blarr...rhubarb...rhubarb...etc."...was the rambling of one such saddo I stood next to in Waterstones one day.

Where Has Tempus, Godot, Everybody, Anybody Gone?
Six replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I brought a similar subject up a little while ago. My other-half is a regular on a forum, (all about ukuleles and such stuff - not anywhere near as interesting as our DL!!), and we have an agreement: if either of us pop our comfy clogs then the other one must quickly announce it on our respective message boards, before even notifying the authorities or other family members. We have our priorities all sorted out. I can't wait for him to die now so I can, at last, be the first to announce a death on a message board. I'd better not die first. That'd just be really annoying. -
I read Good Omens a couple of years ago and recently re-read it. It's a good book, so I'll try and get ahold of American Gods. Is it in any way similar to Good Omens or was the wit and humour all Pratchett's work?? I'm reading 'Man and Boy' by Tony Parsons at the moment. It's ok, but not so much to get excited about!

I don't know how to put this nicely Six, but it looks like you got yourself a dud kid there. Three you say? Unfortunately it must be obvious to you by now that you have failed to produce a Rodin or a Moore, unless he's a very late developer. Don't despair though, just have another one, you never know you may just get a mini Mozart next time and you can teach the dud to take the hat around. I'll have you know my boy is a genius! Do you know how difficult it is to create art with Play-Doh?? And did you see the likeness to my photo? A genius I tell you, absolute genius. And by the way, I have had another one who, incidentally, is showing signs of becoming a mini Mozart. Now I just need medical science pull its socks up and make it possible for men to get pregnant and painfully give birth, and then I can have another child, who will be the dud who carries the hat. ANYWAY, while I'm here, I'd like to wish an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Football Fan and to TLC, just in case I don't get to say it tomorrow. Many drinks raised to you both. -
Brinsworth House Baiter, deep and sincere apologies again. And yes, I agree, Boris Johnson's tackle was a good one. Somebody did that to me once when I was playing for my school team - I felt as if I'd been hit by an Exocet. What is going on here???? You've pulled, BHB!

And I am a Dutchman. (Which I'm not, incidentally. My great grandmother did pretend to be one for a while, but she was in fact a Russian.) Very good Notapotato! If MJ is innocent then I'm a teetotaller. ( Which I'm not, by the way- and my great grandmother may have been but it's unlikely, knowing my family.)

Thank you Cowboy Ronnie, he is rather clever isn't he. I'm not so good with creating art myself, it's the tiny stumpy hands and uneven arms that make it difficult, along with the fact that my arms come out of my cheeks, unlike with ordinary folk. Oh, and the fact that I've got no pupils in my eyes. He obviously gets his talent from his father. -
Does coming form the ' Birmingham area ' make you more susceptible to feelings of grief over the sad loss of Pat Roach? Or is it that you have more of a right to have feelings for him because you're almost a Brummie? I can't understand why that was even mentioned. I was born and raised in Birmingham ( IN Birmingham, not Staffordshire BTW.) and lived there for almost 30 years. Does this mean that I am allowed to talk about his death? Or not, because I don't live there anymore? Quite honestly I couldn't give a flying-fizzbomb! I feel for the guys family and close friends as I would for anyone who had just lost someone, but that's it. Where I come from has nothing to do with it at all. As for being a dole bludger, I wish! They live rent free and get all kinds of benefits! Oh, to live like that!! (Thankfully I was able to escape Birmingham and now live in a much more pleasent area.) Ps, I didn't even get ONE wheelie bin! I want my wheelie bin!!!!

There are a few, certainly the picture in my profile is me, but it was taken with my phone camera so it's a little bit grainy to say the least. And probably for the best.. There are others though, or there were when I posted this anyway. The picture in my profile is me too... My avatar was made by my 3 year old son, using Play-Doh, and shows amazing artistic skill on his part due to the uncanny resemblance to my actual physical appearance... ... see for yourself here.
