How exciting! I'm listening for the sound of many popping clogs even as I write! I am pretty sure that all 20 of my CPDP picks will die in evenly spaced intervals over the next year. I shall write to them all and ask very nicely for their cooperation. By the way, CP, good luck in completing that Hall of Candidates! That looks like a hell of a lot of work! If I can help in any way, just let me know. I don't know how much help I'll actually be, because I'm pretty useless at everything really. Worth a try though!

I believe the problem lies in your ability to compose coherent sentences.

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries Etc...2006

I may just do that, Phantom... say thanks to Mrs Phantom for the great idea! Thank you, Canadian Paul, for the pictures of Brad Pitt, and althought he is quite a fine figure of a man, he's not really my cup of tea. I'm quite keen on Christian Slater, but only because he has a touch of the crumpled and heart warming Columbo to him! Thank you all for your kind words, again, even MPFC who called me a Mr!! -

Whom Are You Tarring With The Epithet "twunt"?

I'm guessing that the erudite and often hilareously funny TLC will be reaching his 500th post in the very near future, so I am jumping in now to congratulate the great man himself! I believe you were the first DLer to welcome me and explain the strange goings on here, so thank you for making me welcome, and for the many giggles your posts have caused. Excellent whoring, you hunky-chunk of man, you! -
Oh no... Hope you're back soon Godot! We'll all be here, waiting...

Doesn't the post you've quoted just say the King was fat, rather than everyone from Tonga is fat? So, if the King was fat, how is it ignorant to refer to him as fat? If it helps redress the balance, I for one have noticed that he's lost weight recently although I'm not sure if he looks better for it.

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries Etc...2006

Wow, thank you everyone for your kind birthday wishes! My birthday presents include six brand new books for me to read, which you'll all no doubt hear about in the 'Books ' thread at some point. BHB, you have me spot on again, I enjoy nothing better than tussling with the local farmers after a large glass ( or two ) of Scrumpy. I always relax after a hard day by lighting up the odd turnip or two. What insight you have! Again, thank you everyone. I'll send you all some cake and a glass of whatever you want via PM later on. -
Wow! What a resourceful woman! I'd never have thought of using my breasts for hidden camera/ self defence weapon purposes before. Alas, mine are normal size and so wouldn't quite work. But, if ever I have a boob-job that goes horribly wrong resulting in my newly huge breasts hanging down around my waist, I'll model myself on Chesty.

Strip The Moderaters Of Their Meagre Powers?
Six replied to Star Crossed's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Oh Star Crossed, you will be so proud of me! I know how you hate me to agree with you, so I am voting a definite NO *to your suggestion! Pleased? *Unfortunately, there isn't a NO option, so I have decided not to vote. -

These visitors are all so pleasant aren't they? Bringing sunlight and joy to all, eh? Anyway, I was just wondering how this thread was stopping the poor old king from resting in peace? Does discussing his death have the effect of prodding him back to life every now and then? If so, all you ranters out there had better stop adding to this thread! It must be terrible for the big old guy!

yeah, ie+, it's the tagline for the National Enquirer tv ads. Hurrah! I haven't seen one of their adverts in probably 10 years, yet their tagline is well and truly stuck in my mind. Talk about effective advertising! Very effective... I've never seen the advert you're talking about, but I knew the tagline too. It took me a while to figure out where from, but I finally found out. It was a line in that excellent vampire film, 'The Lost Boys', which I watched rather a lot* a number or years ago. * Roughly about six million times due to the huge crush I had on one of the vampires. How I wished to be bitten then.

I have finally sent off my lists... I'm in the game! ( That's 'in' . ) I'm pretty hopeless at picking lists for deadpools. I'm in three others and haven't yet had a success. Lucky them eh? Here's hoping I'll have better luck this time and my picks will be dropping like flies left, right and centre.

Oh, how exciting!! I love the Theme Team idea... I just need a lot of quiet time to compile my lists and create an interesting theme. The kid's will be having no dinner today... no tea either... poor souls.

I was too. It's an excellent book. I'm almost finished with The DaVinci Code now, and haven't been awe struck by it. The ideas behind it are very interesting, but the mysterious clues and the overall ' treasure hunt' storyline aren't that interesting or mysterious! Thanks for the recommendation BHB, it has been a good read, just not really good! Anyway, I've come across a good ' swapping ' site. You just put in a list of books you have got and want to swap, then look through the extensive list of books available. All you pay is the postage to send your book. I've swapped a couple of times and it works for me. Here.

It sounds feasible to me... I wonder why ' earthquake' was chosen, and not 'flood' or 'volcanic eruption'? Does the meer mentioning of their names not produce the same effect?? This needs funding and researching. I'll write a letter right away.

I'm loving Death Row Joe. What a great puppet to have ready to take to the next party my children are invited to. We'll have such a scream.... -

Happy Birthday Captain Oates... have a great day. -
I know StarCrossed will be upset with me, but I really do have to agree with you on the Ben Elton front. I never found him entertaining as a comedian, but his books are very addictive. I actually finished Popcorn and went on to read Dead Famous. A brilliant story- murder, suspense, sex, comedy... excellent stuff. When I was almost finished with Dead Famous, I was given a copy of a Louis Theroux book, based on his meetings in America. I am now half way through reading that one.... .... which is why I have yet to start reading the Da Vinci Code! You are quite right there; none of that Amazon rubbish. It's almost as if you can see right into my home...

I hope you have a happy birthday, Star Crossed... and I'm not just saying that to blindly agree with everybody else, I really mean it. Honest. -
I'm half way through reading 'Popcorn' by Ben Elton. It's proving to be quite a good read. Does art reflect life or does life reflect art? We shall see. My copy of The Da Vinci Code has arrived now. I'm looking forward to all of the intrigue and suspence that has been promised

I totally agree.
