I miss my extra income from showing people Oswald's grave. Bought me quite a few Coca-Cola and Milky Way bar combinations in my childhood. All the taxi drivers are lined up in Dealey Plaza today to take people from the assassination site to Fort Worth to see Oswald's grave then back to Dealey Plaza for a flat fee. With it being the day before Thanksgiving traffic should at least be light. Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth has tried for years to figure out a way to close on November 22nd but they haven't quite taken the step to do so. It gets ridiculous in there.

    Lady Bird Johnson

Her wildflower center is spectacular, especially in bluebonnet season. She apparently accepted a rose named in her honor in October. The rose is beautiful. She is such a classic Texas lady. Blue hair, blue suit. She is pictured with her mouth open yet again. I understand she laughs a lot.

Sober, happy and touring at 75, according to the Seattle Times.
  4. -4. Lame. Accept the fact that Lady Clarissa is a lively and original poster and that you are a boring and sanctimonious old windbag. Time to move on. Pleasant a person, that I am sure Lady Clarrissa is, I don't think even she would claim to be an original poster. No more than Christopher Biggins would claim his portrayal of Widow Twankey were original. Before we move on, can I just say that I enjoy CarolAnn's contributions to this forum. We obviously have a different definition of what is boring, and there is nothing wrong with that. David I agree on both points. There is truly nothing that is completely new under the sun, and we do all have different ideas about what is interesting and what is not. That being said, I feel that Carol Ann has already spoken her piece regarding Lady C., and that enough is enough. I found it a little weird that CA took it upon herself to tell LCR to find another website when she first appeared on the Richard O' thread, especially since CA had not contributed to that particular topic herself. Since she is not a mod or admin, she had no more right to discourage a member from posting than I do. I also thought it was mean-spirited to bring up Lady C again in this topic for no reason. I may be wrong but it sounds like jealousy to me. It sounds petty and bitchy too. Also for the record, whatever Lady C is or is not, she is certainly capable of fighting her own battles and this is just something I had to say because it has been bothering me: There is already way too much policing in our society as it is, without self appointed Guardians of Deathlist getting all crazy and hypersensitive and bullying people on a forum which is supposed to be entertaining. Often the same individuals who are so exquisitely sensitive about their own feelings are the very first to hurt someone else without a moments thought. Every so often it's a good idea to step back a bit and realize that you're not the center of the universe. http://www.ralphmag.org/archyR.html goodnight, er.. morning since it's now 6:00 AM here. M. While I'm more than happy to admit that I am a sanctimonious, hypersensitive windbag, I do take exception to boring. Also, I would like to point out that I didn't bring LCR up again - I responded to a post by another with whom I had been having other conversations. I am having a problem with "original" in association with LCR, but I accept that others perhaps have a different definition of "original" as well as "boring." As far as feelings go, I have noticed that most of the people in this forum aren't too concerned about that, so I take that statement with a grain. I have teenagers to remind me constantly that I am not the center of the universe. Bad poetry written by a cockroach in someone's fantasy life has nothing on a 16 year old.

What are you talkiing about Snoop? I realize this is chiming in late, but I think Snoop meant to make amends for violating this: Tradition Twelve: Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.

I'm with you, Godot. I'm one of those damned annoying cyclists speeding past the stationary traffic in rush hour. Well, not really speeding because I'm too much of a coward, but going quite quickly anyway. But you're not paying any tax. Surely it is the duty of everyone to drive a 4 wheel drive SUV at around 15 miles to the gallon so as to pay Gordon Brown his dues so that he can piss it all away! Doesn't have to be an SUV to get 15mpg. *as I stop at every gas station filling the car with premium unleaded.*

Yup, it's a Holden, but since Holden is part of General Motors it's pretty much a Pontiac. I'm happy with it, especially when I blow everyone else off the road. I am trying to figure out the logic behind one thing though. GM manufactures the parts here, ships them to Australia then doesn't keep enough in the States to service the GTOs here. Pisses me off when I have to wait for a part to come in from Australia. But it's still a great car - even if it does look like a Grand Am from the front.

    Avatars

You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby right round round round... This song has been going through my head since I saw on another thread that you had changed your avatar. I hold you responsible for my impending headache. Be glad you are half a country away from me since I firmly believe no young man is to old for a spanking, regardless of what he made on his GRE.

I keep telling you guys - this is it: 8 cylinders and 6.0L of the Corvette LS2 engine. 0 - 60 in less than 6 seconds with 6-speed manual transmission (people who drive real sports cars with automatic transmissions are wimps). 400HP and 400-ft.lb. of torque @ 4400 rpm. I can slam people back into the seat back with this car, something which comes in handy when I'm mad at my husband. Don't, however, believe that it seats 4.

Shame about Dessie! Being the pernickety kind, I went to check the bios of the 3 abovementioned to see if they had died at aged 27, as MPFC suggests. I used that admirable site "Wikipedia" (tag line "bastion of all that is irrefutable"). The results were as follows: Janis Joplin January 19, 1943 - October 4, 1970 Kurt Donald (tee-hee!) Cobain February 20, 1967 - c. April 5, 1994 So they check out, then Jim Morrison "he is a singer" WTF?!!! Check for yourselves. Even that isn't right (surely it should say "was"). I'm sure they'll update the link... eventually, but that's the sum total of information they have on the "Lizard King" at the moment! I got this page on a redirect when I clicked on your link, but when I searched for "James Morrison" I got a link to the page you referenced.

    Bill Clinton

I dunno - my mother has had two bypasses, one triple and one quadruple. It's been a year since her second bypass and she's fine. Works and basically drives us all nuts. Doesn't take care of herself at all, really. I really can't get too worked up about Clinton having a decortication.

Careful Carol Ann. I wouldn't want you to upset your even more bloodthirsty neighbours in New Mexico. Their penitentiary riot of 1980 features in one of the scariest documentaries ever seen. Inmates had their eyes burnt out with oxy-acetylene torches ....... and the main perpetrator is now free. Curiously no-one would give evidence against him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Mexico_St...nitentiary_Riot Nah - we've executed 377 inmates since 1982. New Mexico is a mamby pamby 1. I accept that my statement of "mamby pamby" depends on your political and moral opinion of the death penalty. It is interesting that NM has a higher murder rate per 100,000 than Texas, though. I wouldn't of thought it myself.

In the US it's not uncommon for inmates convicted of crimes against children to have to be isolated from the general population of a maximum security prison if they aren't on a Death Row. Horrible things happen to them, and I have to say that most people really don't care too much. Of course, this is the bloodthirsty USA we're talking about, and this post originates in the most bloodthirsty state of them all. I would love to see this guy in the general population of the Texas state prison at Huntsville.

It's a shame they don't know how lucky they would be. I apologize for over-labeling your cynicism. Would you go for a "sorta" cynic?

Come to Texas. It should soon be law here. CarolAnn, I read yer post a time or two and still don't know how far you're joking and how far it's true. Could you - like - clear this up, mebbe with a posted link? I'm serious. The provisions of Jessica's Law are: Mandatory 25 year to life sentences for a first-time violent sexual offense against a child under age 14 Lifetime GPS monitoring for child sex offenders Death penalty sentence for a second sexually violent offense against a child under age 14 Doubling the statute of limitations on sex crimes against children from 10 to 20 years Tougher penalties for those who harbor a sex offender who is in violation of registration requirements http://www.dewhurst.org/site/PageServer?pa...as_Law_Petition http://www.jmlfoundation.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica%27s_Law http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Lunsford_Act It's a big issue in a lot of elections, particularly in California, Texas and Florida (where Jessica lived). Our Lieutenant Governor is basing his campaign on it and he has the support of all the law enforcement organizations in the state, which is a definite plus to getting re-elected.
