Precaution I think. Giving his importance, his government and surroundings probably doesn’t want him to be exposed in any way, despite being vaccinated and « healthy » as they said

Marilyn Monroe’s half sister is still with us at 102 : Berniece Baker Miracle https://www.babelio.com/auteur/Berniece-Baker-Miracle/264159

The orchids look wonderful though

Some photos from Belmondo’s funeral : Vernier (b. 1931), Pierre Richard (b. 1934, huge huge name in France) and Delon looked quite frail
-
André Maranne over Prince Philip ? I don’t think so
-
Looks like a bad wax statue or a kinder lookalike but for sure doesn’t look like the picture of health here !
-
Alain Delon reacted to Belmondo’s death saying this : translation : I’m so devastated. I’ll try to hang on to not do the same as he did in the next 5 hours. But it would be great if we died together, we started together 60 years ago. Delon is always really dramatic but could it be a Piaf/Cocteau situation all over again ?

It would be complicated to add a corpse to the list though

I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020

I feel like this fall can have some pretty big names passing on, and maybe one or two hits. Since the 1st of September we had some pretty big names, or at least celebs who were under our radar for this year list such as Jean Denis Bredin, Theodorakis, Sarah Harding, now Belmondo... I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a hit in the next few days or if people like Trintignant, Soulages, Eva Marie Saint or Janis Paige die before the end of the week edit : Pelé or/and Berlusconi ? -

Huge huge name and news in France, he was one of the most famous and most acclaimed actor. Suffered some stroke back in 200? And was so frail for years, couldn’t speak nor walk +1 for my french list and one of the best... rip Monsieur -
Just visited a museum where I found this painting from 1791 by Rémy-Furcy Descarsin representing a couple of centenarians from the north of France. The man was called Rene Dogereau and the woman Perrine Trouillard. According to some sources Perrine was born in 1667 but I don’t think it’s true because she would have been 124 in 1791 when the painting was done. Anyway it was a so rare to be a centenarian back in the XVIIIth century that this famous painter decided to immortalize this peculiar couple. I thought maybe it would interest someone here, guess it could have been added to the world oldest thread but I wasn’t sure about it

Jean Denis Bredin dead at 92. Obviously I retired him from my shadow list last minute to put Dominique Fernandez at his spot :)))

I know, Robert Young explained to me by mail when I submitted Paul Roger Henry to him. What annoys me is that some people, including Dr. Young, tend to invalidate any new submission saying « it’s impossible that someone can approach those age without being known ». They invalidate any submission without looking for proof but rather prefer to close the case from the very beginning. I’m however 100% sure that at least 1 one of those supercentenarians people could be validated if we had took the time to... probably not the case of Paul Roger Henry though but this perpetual sceptisism is annoying

Madeleine Riffaud, french poet, journalist, war correspondent and former member of the resistance turned 97 yo this year

More than that : how can’t you love Dolly Parton ?
-
She indeed was but the thing is, at that age, you can look healthier than ever and drop dead from a cold the next day... sad, RIP

Former Tchadian dictator Hissene Habre dead from Covid at 79 -
Well I contacted a descendant of him (from his mother side) : he has no recollection of him because it’s a distant relative but he seemed to believe he could have died this year. He hasn’t close relatives not descendant from What I found. I don’t know What to do next... I found his family tree which states that he died at 188 but that’s all...

Yeah but... you know, at 100 yo every year is a challenge
