As her own daughter, maybe she also stole his identity

French genealogy federation is starting to talk about it and they'll possibly make some investigation. the man supposedly has only one living non-direct descendant so his age and death could have easily been forgotten…

I found it in the archives of Paris which are free and can be seen online : they kept every birth, marriage and death act since 1860 !
-
i will do ! Thanks for the answer !

here is what I found so far about him : - two separate certificate of birth : he was declared in the city hall of the 16th district of Paris on the 27th of November 1902 but was born on the 24th. - several death certificate which seem to be reliable as they were delivered by the competent authorities : he seemed to have died in Bobigny (93) near Paris on the 7th of April 2021, as shown on the death certificate delivered by Bobigny's city here : in addition it seems like every other Paul Roger Henry's certificate of death that I found on internet are the ones of other namesake because none of them were born in 1902. What do you all think ? edit : what I also find interesting about him is that he never claimed to be 118 prior to his death. That's rare : a lot of claimed supercentenarians want their moment of fame while they're alive, and a lot of them lie to do so. Here, we can assume that he didn't want to be annoyed for his age and that it only came to light after his death.
-
And now he has been taken down without explanation : which one of you is The Sylsyl on wikipedia ?
-
While searching in the Wikipedia list of oldest people ever I noticed a new addition in the french page : Paul Roger Henry (1902-2021) who supposedly died at 118 being the 4th oldest person ever and the 1st oldest man ever. I just found that registration from INSEE institute, a reliable source because it’s the french institute of survey and a government’s institute. Does anyone have any clue about him ?

If 56 is « pretty damn old » for you, I sure would like to know how you describe Ruthie Thompson age for example

I searched all the recipients of the Legion of Honour Grand Cross and there’s a lot who are in their 90’s now, several who will turn 100 in 2022-1923 including : - Marcel Boiteux (09/05/1922) : mathematician and economist (received it in 1992) - Claude Alphandery (27/11/1922) : resistant and economist (received it in 2013) - Jacqueline Fleury (12/12/1923) : resistant (received it in 2013) - Anne Marie Krug-Basse (24/03/1923) : resistant (received it in 1997) The oldest of them all still alive are now Pierre Soulages (24/12/1919) and Léon Cligman (26/05/1920). Maybe some good names in here for our french deadpoolers

Wrong : one decade before, Kane Tanaka would have already been the world oldest at the age of 159. She’s unsinkable
-
Absolutely agree with you, as Mariah Carey and Beyonce (Maybe even Adèle ?) but they’re not from 30’s-40’s ahah
-
I thought of Dionne Warwick and Gladys Knight too but forgot them... and Elton John Too, I wondered if he could be considered as a diva but Why Not ?! thanks for the answer
-
There’s no thread (yet) about « Divas » so I thought I’d put it here : I have been thinking about all those so called Divas, born in the late 30’s till’ mid 40’s and Who are beginning to be old and thus worth of interest. Among them we have Cher (b. 1946), Diana Ross (b. 1944), Dolly Parton (b. 1946), Patti Labelle (b. 1944), Gloria Gaynor (b. 1943), Shirley Bassey (b. 1937), Tina Turner (b. 1939), Barbra Streisand (b. 1942), Bette Midler (b. 1945), Stevie Nicks (b. 1948)... Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, Etta James or Dusty Springfield could have been in that list... if they hadn’t already met the reaper. tell me if you have some more names in mind, I’d be interested in knowing What you think is or is not a « Diva »

Marry Berry or Hayao Miyazaki could be good contenders (maybe they have a few years to go ?)

Don’t know about dos santos and Tatsumi but Randon is quite healthy : she talked for her birthday, as usual ans recovered from Covid this year, talks, walks, eats properly, she’s just blind, hence her look on here. But I agree that Juinewicz looks the ealthiest here

While I was writing this, I thought it might be a good idea to create a topic about the worst timing to pass on. A shitty idea according to some, a marvelous one according to me ! Anyway, here's the thread where you can post the people who decided to die at the worst timing possible : one day before their birthday, on their birthday, one day before their wedding etc… Also, I thought we can put people who had the wrong idea to pass away on a peculiar date : I was thinking about 4 dates especially, the 25th (or 24th ?) of December, the 31st of December, the 1st of January, and the 1st of April. We could resurrect this topic every year to list people who died on those days and probably ruin their relatives' festivity. Finally, feel free to post the people who died on your birthday (in one single editable post), as I can't see anywhere to list those one. Hope you like this idea !

Renee Simonot’s death is quite touching : besides being one of the key figures of this site since a few years and being the oldest living actress at the time of her death, her passing occured exactly while Catherine Deneuve was publicly acclaimed at Cannes. It was Deneuve’s first public appearance since her stroke last year (She looked really well btw) and everyone was looking forward to her presence. Before she knew her mother has died, she said (as it’s related in this article) that it was her most emotional Canne Festival ever : the up-and-downs must have felt terrible for her that day and It indeed must have been the most emotional festival of her Life...
