Nobel Prize In Death

Wasn’t it the second time Amartya Sen was rumored dead in the past 2-3 years also ? Edit : a quick search on the forum showed nothing relevant except this interesting health details from @arghton : "Amartya Sen - Diagnosed with throat/oral cancer and given an 15% survival in 1952. The radiation he got during the treatment had severe effect on his bones and in 1971 he suffered severe bone necrosis. In 2018 he had prostate cancer and was still undergoing radiation therapy in 2020. Also has been decrepit for years now. ". Wouldn't be a bad pick for 2024 imo. I must have dreamt his other death rumors though… -

First Celebrity Death You Remember
Lafaucheuse replied to The Daredevil's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Just watched "1917" yesterday and had an epiphany : one of the very first death I remember clearly was the one of Lazare Ponticelli (wiki), last french WWI veteran who died in 2008 aged 110. I remember talking about him and WWI in class and we had a one-minute silence in all public schools. I vividly remember it was everywhere at the time and I didn't understand how important it was. -

Nobel Prize In Death

Some user states he talked with his daughter and that he is perfectly fine. Seems like a hoax to me, the only source is that tweet from a fake account of the new Nobel Prize winner Claudia Goldin. edit : her 3rd tweet on the platform, no reason to believe her -

Would be a great loss if true. Was about to put him in my 2024 list -
It should work now, I deleted a few, only 66% storage used now

Marisa Borini (wiki), actress and pianist and mother of ex french first lady Carla Bruni and film director Valeria Bruni Tedeschi is turning 94 in 2024. Not sure if she will obit in UK but an interesting name often seen in french media
-
I need some help while making my 2024 list : should I follow the english rules and play as if I were english putting names I barely know as a french person (Jonnie Irwin, Frank Field, Esther Rantzen) or should I play as a french person following the english rules of obit and thus avoiding picks who won't obit in french medias ? That's the question I ask myself every year while making my lists and I'd really appreciate your point of view on it If you look at my current international list, I chose the latter option and the only pick I took risk with was James Whale but I don't know what to think for next year
-
Has lost some weight apparently but doesn’t look bad and still able to drive by herself. Wouln’t exclude her from next year’s list though.

! As announced before, an upgraded version of Twisted DL opens ! Rules : Make a list of 20 names + 3 subs who could die between 1st of October 2022 and 1st of October 2023. The one winning is the one with the most points at the end of the year, thus the most hits as one hit = one point. Every time a pick of your list dies, the first sub on your list of 3 replace the dead pick in his/her position and enters the official list of 20. Then, you’ll have to choose another celeb to take the n°3 spot on your sub list. The subs left will move up from one spot putting them a step closer to the official list. If a sub dies before being on the list, then notify it and choose another celeb to enter at spot nº3. Each subs left behind will move one spot up. You can choose similar celebrities as other participants. The only criteria for their admission is a qualifying obit when they pass : a qualifying obit means an article in English or in French. You can choose whoever you want as long as they're famous enough (which means they have articles about their action available online, wikipedias article about them, acknowledgment in their field…) Entries are now opened : you can send me your list in private message. They'll be uncovered on the first of October when the competition begins. Every time you have a hit, just quote your previous list and cross the hit to make it easier for me please and choose another celeb. I'll make sure to make a recap every week (or so) of every death and everyone's points. Feel free to tell me if I forget about your hit in your point ranking or anything like that. Hope everything is clear, Good Luck !

Line Renaud was present at the inauguration of her garden in the Champs Elysées. Not frail but she’s beginning to look her age : shacking and short of breath. Wouldn’t be surprised if she doesn’t make it to 98

100% agree with you, it’s subjective. On the Waterfront, North by Northwest, the Birds and Mary Poppins are all classics. I stand my ground on Eva Marie Saint though.
