    French speaking deathlist

Je l’avais enlevé cette année car je n’étais pas sur qu’il soit assez connu. Apparement si au vu des nombreux hommages et articles sur sa mort. Dommage !

    Ideas and possibilities for 2024

Considering nothing changes, here is how the perfect deathlist 2024 would go according to me : 1. Jimmy Carter 2. Rosalynn Carter (just for the sake of having these two on top spots) 3. Shane McGowan 4. Joanne Woodward 5. James Whale 6. Jonnie Irwin 7. Linda Nolan 8. Frank Field 9. Henry Kissinger 10. Bernadette Chirac 11. Diane Feinstein 12. Sonny Rollins 13. Nigel Starmer Smith 14. Shannen Doherty 15. Bobby Charlton 16. Esther Rantzen 17. Jean Marie Le Pen 18. Sandra Day’O Connor 19. Mel Brooks 20. Dick Van Dyke 21. Emperor Akihito 22. Mitch McConnell 23. Jacques Delors 24. Norman Lear 25. Prunelle Scales 26. Louis Farrakhan 27. Imelda Marcos 28. David Attenborough 29. Bob Newhart 30. Raul Castro 31. Vera Miles 32. King Salman of Saudi Arabia 33. Kim Novak 34. Douglas Hurd 35. Franz Beckenbauer 36. Glynis Johns 37. Robert Solow 38. Eva Marie Saint 39. Buzz Aldrin 40. Giorgio Napolitano 41. Valentino 42. Rex Williams 43. Tippi Heren 44. Warren Buffett 45. James Earl Jones 46. Rupert Murdoch 47. Sophia Loren 48. Liza Minnelli 49. Pope Francis 50. Ozzy Osbourne The top 10/20 seems pretty strong ! I feel like I'm forgetting an obvious name in the top 10 though…

    French speaking deathlist

Impressionnant ! Peut être à enlever de ma liste l’année prochaine ? Cela dit j’avais pensé pareil pour Carrere d’Encausse et de Fontenay… à cet âge là ça peut aller très vite
  7. Nothing new. Several articles reported She celebrated her 90th bday with her family and her grandson published some tribute but didn’t even talked about her health or condition. The last interviews of some friends of her were saying that She was « really disminished », which I suspect is a way of saying she can’t talk or walk anymore. Her daughter is taking care of her 24/7 apparently. The fact that she’s still alive is quite unbelievable. I've been saying for a year that she's going to die soon…
  8. Also, after some introspection, I would say, the last third of the year will see some DL-favorite passings : Glynis Johns, Eva Marie Saint, Frank Field, Rob Burrow, June Spencer, Napolitano or Day'O Connor maybe ? A high profile celebrity death wouldn't be too surprising either : Julie Andrews ? Buzz Aldrin ? Liza Minelli ? Bardot ? For what concerns young and ill picks, I'd say Jonnie Irwin, Nolan, Doherty and Taylor are safe until 2024. Wouldn't be too surprised if we have some late health scares from the first three of them who would guarantee a top spot for the 2024 list. I'd say we will have some surprising "misses" : Chomsky, Attenborough or Farrakhan for example. For what concerns James Whale, I don't think he's in immediate danger but I do think he will either be a miss this year or be a very early 2024 hit following some decline in his condition in late 2023 Finally, I'd say the crowdsources deathlist total of hits will exceed the official DL hits and DDP drop 40 will be around 20.
  9. I was sure a hit would come soon. Didn''t expect it to be Al Fayed though. I sense an interesting month of september : I feel like a few of the immortals from the immortals thread will finally succumb. For the official list, I sense two more hits in september : one lingerer (whom I suspect could be Woodward or Starmer Smith, maybe the two of them ?) and a forgotten old chap (Ethel Kennedy, Sandy Gall, Cleo Laine or Stanley Baxter ?). For october : Carter's time. I sense some 18 hits in total but I'd be surprised if we equal 2020. I feel a quite slow month of november and a busier last month with some interesting news and deaths (McGowan, Linda Nolan, Kissinger would be all quite at risk imo).

I do love THE post. Useless, insane, camp. Every Sulu post is better than the last one and less crazy than the following one.

    Dying Off The Radar

french archeologist and conservator Pierre Amiet (wiki in english) died in 2021, aged 98, nine days before his 99th birthday. He was in my long list of names since a few yers. As an art student at the Louvre, I red a book from him and knew him from my classes. He even got a proper Le Monde obit but just found out about his death now.

    Death In The Family

    Death In The Family

My great Uncle just died aged 89 after a 6 months battle with brain tumor and metastasis. The awful part is that he was in a facility home which refused to give him any medication or morphin. It must have been so painful, I must say that’s a relief to know he’s no longer suffering. Can’t wait for euthanasia to be legalized in France, out last visit to him was heartbreaking, no one should suffer that much…
