Which A-list celebrity would receive the biggest media coverage if they died tomorrow?

dead Sinéad O'Connor aka Shuhada' Davitt
Lafaucheuse replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList Forum
Every summer for the past 5 fives or so we had a prominent "young" figure who died from unnatural causes : - 2022 : Shinzo Abe, assassination, 67 - 2020 : Naya Rivera, drowning, 33 - 2019 : Cameron Boyce, seizure, 20 - 2018 : XXXtentacion, shot, 20 - 2017 : Chris Cornell, suicide, 52 - 2016 : Anton Yelchin, traffic collision, 27/ Christina Grimmie, assassination, 22 and we can almost include Robin Williams (2014, suicide), Cory Monteith (2013, overdosis)… I'd say if O'Connor death ends up being a suicide, she would be a great addition to the list. January and mid-summer seem period with particularly high young profil death every year. -
She’s the only supercentenarian who could be slightly considered for the list. She will never make it I know but just for the sake of it, it would be fun to have a supercentenarian famous for something else than his/her age. She’ll probably obit and it won’t happen anytime soon that someone of that « famousness » reaches that age.

Yep but it doesn’t end with -er so doesn’t work

On the five inductees of the Kennedy Center in 2005, two died this year : Bennett and Turner. It leaves us with Suzanne Farrell (b. 1945) and Robert Redford (b. 1936). Redford wouldn't be such a bad call for this year or next.

Dead Body and No Soul ! Bennett is a hit for Khthonia, Toast and Captain Hemlock. @Charles De Gaulle you could have won a point but I asked for 3 subs and you never provided it so I'll be forced to remove you from the game… @Khthonia : James Whale in and Nolan on the sub bench @Toast : Linda Nolan in and Patrick Murray as sub 3 @Captain Hemlock : Ruth Buzzi in and Shannen Doherty on sub bench ---------------------------------------------- George Al-ARGH-gia! George Alagiah is a hit for a bunch here including Captain Hemlock, Yorkshire Banker, theoldlady, wannamaker, WEP, gcreptile, Handrejka, Toast, Torva Messor and Book (pfiou…). Not a single miss, one point each ! @Captain Hemlock : Roberta Flack in and Yevgeny Prigozhin as sub 3 @YorkshireBanker : Bobb Seith in and you still have another sub to choose @theoldlady : James Whale in and another Nolan sub here @wannamaker : Michael Tilson Thomas in and Julie Goodyear on the waiting list @WEP : Tore Aleksandersen in and Jimmy Carter as sub 3 (never too late ?) @gcreptile : Pope Francis in (already ? Think you just chose him one month ago, good job !) and still a sub to choose @Handrejka : Jonnie Irwin in and Rantzen as sub 3 @Toast : Carter in (it really is never too late with him !) and Attenborough as sub 3 @Torva Messor : Doherty in and Hemingway as sub 3 @Book : Carter in (as for Toast, good job !) and Doherty on the waiting list I think I didn't forget anyone Book takes the lead again with one point more than perhaps. Wannamaker just behind with 14 points.

Has been amputated from his right leg. Seems to think he only have months left but is looking forward to commentate the rugby world cup in september-october.

Official statement : Carter dead ! Hugh « Sonny » Carter that is. Whoever he is… Will there be a day when one of those blue statement popping in my notifications will be the right one ?

can't understand why Leontyne Price has been so overlooked by the official list and in other pools : only 4 ddp teams picked her, one of them being my theme team. Her and Marilyn Horne (who also deserves more consideration) are the last ones of the great soprano divas of the XXth. Montserrat Caballé, Callas, Jone Shuterland and Birgit Nelson are all gone. Here is her amazing interpretation of Forza del Destino by Verdi

French anthropolotist and ethnograph Marc Augé has died aged 87. He was the husband of Françoise Héritier, much more famous than him. -
+1 for my shadow list and countless lists over the pools. Didn’t know Who he was as he was mostly a uk-centric personality though
-
Under oxygen at home apparently but don’t know if this is new…
-
Pretty sure there will be another hit or two before Carter in september so went with Barker
-
While browsing I realised Al Green was still alive which was a complete shock, I was sure he died 2-3 years ago but I’ve probably mistaken him with Bill Withers… though I’m sure another of those soul singer died a while back and I was surprised by the lack of tribute (Al Jarreau maybe ?)
-
Rollins why not
-
Not a single soul predicted Bennett here. Which means all the terminally ill and lingerer are still in the race and could become hits before this year’s end
-
Unless Bennett died yesterday, no one got it right this Time ! New round opens
-
Not unexpected but still a shock to see that Carter has outlived almost 1/5 of the list

Balutin ou Bouvard pourraient être les prochains..

Amanda Lear appears on drag race France tonight. Probably not in danger for the next couple of years

You're right, Cassez is still alive, but Herrand was the last one standing from the original group. Cassez joined the group in 1971, long after the band was formed. I spend too much time here, I forgot how to read french excusez moi ! -

Marc Herrand, last member of the Compagnon de la Chanson, french boysband founded in 1941, has died at 98. He was the last original member of the band. Here with Piaf in 1946
