RIP

Dead at 95. Was pretty sure she would go this year, I have her in some pools here including a solo hit for my DDP theme team and AO deadpool. Breaking News from Le Monde.

No more pepper ! Teresa Taylor is a hit for gcreptile, Torva Messor, Captain Chorizo and Book, congrats, one point each ! @gcreptile : Jimmy Carter in, it's never too late @Torva Messor : Simon Cowell in @CaptainChorizo : Black Bart in @Book : Nigel Starmer Smith CaptainChorizo and gcreptile you have two subs to provide please !
-
Almost dickless ! Dick Hall is a solo hit for @YorkshireBanker but that doesn't mean your list is dickless as Dick McTaggart was just inducted in, in addition to the lingerer Dick Button two spots above him. Noticed you also had Dick Hyman as your second sub : are you Dick-addict ? Anyway one point, congrats, and please provide another Dick… I mean sub to go at spot 3 !

Yeah that's what I thought, I already saw this picture, I checked for the picture in Lear's and DVD's topic but didn't find anything so I wasn't sure
-
wasn't this picture taken a while ago ? I remember a video of the three of them from some months ago... Lear looks real decent for his age ! Brooks looks ok but DVD looks the frailest of the three of them. It's irritating to never see him serious cause we can't really say how healthy he looks and the fact that he is always smiling or goofing around is maybe why people got the impression he looks good. I'd say the smiling/goofing stuff is maybe an unconscious way to hide his age and deteriorating state. That said, I wouldn't be too surprised if he does die before 2024.

Are you Mr. Sulu ? If not, do you understand the principle of deadpooling which is the main goal of this site ? Also, do you understand the difference between wishing and expecting ?

Rushed to hospital after food reaction but supposedly « everything’s gonna be fine »
-
Love that you started a new page with that

Has ended his Connecticut speech on gun control by a « god save the queen, man ». Pretty sure he has some kind of dementia.

Can’t go out of his apartment according to his friend’s interview and depends on his wife for his daily life. They recolted more than 20 000€ in less than a week though.

while I'm here, here are a few cyclists that deserves more consideration : - Raphael Geminiani (b. 1925) : 7 times winner of Tour de France - Federico Bahamontes (b. 1928) : legendary cyclist, the eagle of Toledo has won 6 tours de France. Brought him back to my list this year and is definitely worthy of his own appearance on DL - André Darrigade (b. 1929) : le levrier bondissant/des landes is one of the most famous french cyclist still alive are there others 90+ living cyclists as famous as them ?

I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020
Lafaucheuse replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList Forum
Well, it looks like Gooseberry feelings about a busy summer were true, a lot of A-list hits lately (Berlusconi, Glenda Jackson, Kaczynski, Pat Robertson, Christy Dignam, Cormac McCarthy…). 3 of them have been breaking news from Le Monde recently which didn't happen a lot. I sense an advalanche of important deaths coming and an imminent hit for the list… -
Jean Pierre Léaud
-
Dignam ding dong ! Christy Dignam is a hit for perhaps, Sean and a miss for Toast (Doherty to replace him), Great Uncle Bulgaria (Starmer-Smith instead) @Torva Messor, @BuffaloPhil and @CaptainChorizo who still need a replacement pick @Perhaps : Le Pen in and Cale Yarborough on the sub bench @Sean : Gordon McQueen in and Daniel Ellsberg as sub 3 perhaps is just one point behind Book now with 14 points…

Should I add another name, often talked about in french circles : Herbert Léonard, born 1945 (wiki). The french singer has recently been hospitalised in intensive care in critical condition for pneumonia and pleuresis. 2017 : he spent a month and a half in induced coma following a pulmonary embolism. 2021 : 2 cardiovascular surgeries + one arterial leg surgery, couldn’t walk anymore 2022 : severe Covid which led to intensive care hospitalisation on respiratory monitoring. Surgery on his vocal chords. Said to be on his deathbed but bounced back.
-
Great list. I think half of them will be dead by 2024 though, and that is Farrakhan, Poltawska and Skinner. I considered Farrakhan a miss since the 1st of january : I sense his ommission from the list will be proven to be a bad choice and even if he does live to 2024, I’d say he’s too notable, old and frail to not be on the list. I’ve mentioned him a few times before. I like the idea of bringing back og picks such as Skinner, Farrakhan and Minnelli for example. JLL, Charles Aznavour and even Musharraf (to a lesser degree) have proven to be valid returnees.

Breaking News from le Monde and a unique DDP pick
-
Yes, I’m considering adding him to my list next year, as I said I kept him under my radar since the Cesar this year, he barely could walk, I Wonder if he’s gonna make it to 2024
-
an online pot has been opened for Jean Pierre Léaud (wiki) one of the most notable french actor who just turned 79 and the description says he currently is in "a difficult time in terms of morale, physical well-being and material needs". His last appearance at the Cesar this year caught my attention, he looks ill. Wouldn't be such a bad pick.

Thanks a lot ! A really sad story. Losing a child is probably the worst thing that could happen to you. The fact that she did go the funeral despite her health condition is admirable. I was only 4 yo at that time but it must have been quite a shock to see Margret dying before the Queen's Mother

the whole principle of this site is not a pleasure to behold. Yet you're here ? I wanted to see how she looked 2 months prior to her death and also, the fact that I didn't find any picture of her at that occasion makes me wonder if she was able to be there…
