Congrats @Perhaps ! New round opens : will there be a 20th hit in 2020 ? If so, When ? If not, When Will be the 1st hit Of 2021 ? The second question his harder to answer so if you’d like you can join the game When the 2021 list is out or you can try to guess without knowing the list (but keep in mind that Carlos Menem will probably be in it ;)

    Good luck !

    wow

    I did not expect this...

Same, I wasn’t expecting a death now, « encore moins » john Edrich... Didn’t know who he was honestly, don’t think he will get any obit in France but RIP and well Done to the commitee ! Now My reign is over in the « how many hits this year » but I don’t care, I prefer that ! I would really like another hit before the end of the month, just to have 20/50 in 2020 but maybe it’s too much to ask for

Micheline Presle, Michel Bouquet, Brigitte Bardot are in the same league as Delon. I think there’s a good chance all of them will be gone soon.

I don’t agree with that... bardot is the only one on the Same level as Delon. Michel Bouquet is on the Same level as Claude Brasseur but if you ask anyone in France there’s a good chance that they don’t know who is Presle...

    Something to do, innit?

Literally never heard of him before is all, and I’m no stranger to French and Belgian cinema. I think describing it as a “huge” one is hyperbole. No offence intended. I’m only trying to agitate you ever so slightly.

Honestly he was a huge one, on the same level as Jean Rochefort or Bernard Blier. One of the last french giant with Delon and Belmondo, it really is a huge thing in France

  8. Thought I could create a poll for this new game.

Here is a list of 20 prominent figures who all turned 90 this year (born in 1930). According to you, who are the ones who could reach their 100 birthday ? Only time will tell…

Of course I could have add some other names but I only chose to put the major ones and only people born in 1930, don't know why but it's easier to compare.

Good luck and let me tell you what you think.

  9. I have some troubles making my shadow list this year : I have too many people that I want to add and I can’t make a choice, I’m sure I’m gonna miss some hits and regret it later...

OK, who is the American equivalent of The Nolans?  The Australian equivalent?  Sorry, only the UK cares about people like them who had 2.5 hits 40 years ago and who were 'big in Japan'.

Sure, one hit wonders (and I know The Nolans weren't, in the UK) can be fun and fondly-remembered, but nowhere else on earth do they make front page news with their ongoing cancer battles and love lives 40 years after the fact and get stints on daytime talk shows.  That is a uniquely British phenomenon.

Couldn’t agree more, never heard of the Nolans, Linda’s death would barely be reported in France...

And of course, the one and obvious one they held onto for years: One Foot In The Grave.

Completely forgot about the Pinter Wonderland but a great one !!
