Probably so, but I had not yet become aware of that particular avenue. Might have to spice that thread up a tad, as I've recently run plumb out of inhibitions.

It's been my experience, and certainly no offense is intended, that most titled "Ladies" weren't at all. Much to my delight, I might add.

My, my, this could be taken in so many ways; especially since I've never dealt with this poster before and he's welcoming me back? Hmmmm...

Due to time differences, I'm just now cracking my bottle. I'll catch up though.

Great to be heard from, DWB, it was a bit twitchy for a while. Note to those who don't know me: My name is Typhoid Harry, I've been busy the past months killing Osama Bin Laden, but I'm back now. I'm a mod who stared death in the face and spit... Trifle at your peril.

Dead Couple to Be Married JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - A South African man who shot his pregnant fiance dead before killing himself will be posthumously married to her at the weekend. Police Captain Mohale Ramatseba said David Masenta shot 25-year-old Mgwanini Molomo after a quarrel before turning the gun on himself. But Johannesburg's Sowetan newspaper said family and friends wanted to remember them as a happy couple destined for a happy life together. The groom's corpse would be dressed in a cream suit and his bride's in a gown for the ceremony, at which a priest in the rural village of Ceres in Limpopo will bless the union before the two are buried, the Sowetan said. "In African culture, there is no death -- there is merely the separation of body and soul," said cultural expert Mathole Motshekga. "It is also important because the families are married together." "This does not mean the relationship has irretrievably broken down." Um, I'm at a loss here, gentlemen... -TH

This really belongs in the Dead Losses thread, and I'll merge it later, but this is too good to bury. Punsters, do your worst! Uzi Hitman Singer, songwriter and composer Uzi Hitman dies at 52 By Haaretz Service and AP The Israeli singer and songwriter Uzi Hitman, who composed the song "Adon Olam," died of a heart attack Saturday night, at the age of 52. Hitman, who was one of the most popular songwriters and performers in Israel in the 1980s and 1990s, began his career at the 1976 Hasidic Song Festival, where he performed "Adon Olam," a traditional Jewish prayer for which he had composed music. His famous songs include "Noladati Lashalom" (I was born for peace), "Ratziti Sheteda" (I wanted you to know) and "Kan" (Here), which was performed by Orna and Moshe Datz and reached the third place at the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest. Hitman later dedicated "Noladati Lashalom," to Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, the first Arab leader to sign a peace agreement with Israel. The birth of Hitman's eldest son, Ido, in 1978 also inspired the song, Ido Hitman told Army Radio on Sunday. After Hitman received a guitar from his parents at age 11, he went on to sing during his military service in the Israel Defense Forces. "Dad was married to the State of Israel," his son told Army Radio. "More than my mother, more than his children, he loved the country... He simply loved the state, he loved the land." In the early 1980s, Hitman appeared in the children's television program "Parpar Nehmad," and later in "Hopa Hei," another popular children's program. Igal Bashon, who sang with Hitman in Hopa Hei, said he was known for his sense of humor. "He was the king of the country," Bashon told Army Radio. "Uzi possessed great magic and the talent he was born with was rare." In 2001, Hitman was presented with the ACUM Prize (Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers of Music in Israel) for lifetime achievement. He was laid to rest at the Yarkon Cemetery, near Tel Aviv, on Sunday afternoon. Education Minister Limor Livnat was among the eulogizers.

He's dead and gone. With respite, he was an asshole.

Boo! Stayin, boo! -10 points for taking the obvious route. Sure and I've always considered my self the king of groaners, I hereby surrender my crown. Two things I still have curiosity about, however, are: 1. Does anyone "get" the Typhoid Mary reference? Over the past few days I've asked several Europeans about the reference, and none have known what I was referring to. (Oh, sh*t, I just realized I overlooked a possible crossover interpretation of this nom de plume. Well, NO, okay, OOPS! Okay! ) And, uh, damn, got called away and forgot what the second thing was. I'm sure I'll recall tomorrow...

Ya think? I can't understand a word from most Scots until I've been there a week. "Ah dinnae ken ya ken Ken, if I'da ken you ken Ken, I'da ken ya, ken?"

The hourglass idea is brilliant. Perhaps to commemorate the 2004 championship season?

Listen very carefully to what I'm about to say: I was sending you a quiet word as to your propensity for polls of questionable relevance. Speculation regarding the next DL success is all over the board and a poll (especially an incomplete one) will not contribute to that discussion if it's posted several different ways. With the recent influx of members, I felt it would be helpful to have some geographic perspective to apply to the posts here. You have set yourself up nicely as a target by not getting the point at all.

For some reason, I read the title of this thread as "...is Stalin Alive?" Gave me a chuckle. -

Post it as a link with a proviso regarding anyone who might take offense. That way it's their own fault for clicking it.
