I guess you played it on mute

As I was catching up on my short list... Mark Souder, former US congressman, dead at 72 from pancan.

Ah, apologies, misread

Gonna 100% disagree that it's shortsighted. The 20th century was ripe with innovation, conflict and the advancement of civilization that is highly unlikely to be repeated. Just compare the 19th and 20th centuries. Also, each of the events you mentioned happened over 50 years ago. Think about all the people that the Queen and the Commonwealth have ruled over. There are probably millions of people without even access to the Internet who know who the Queen is. When you factor in both importance, influence and notability, I don't think anybody has or will come close. That also includes Hitler.
-
I can't think of anyone living right now who'd even come close.

Queen Elizabeth is easily without question the biggest death of this century. There’s literally nothing that could top it.

Queen Elizabeth is a hit here

I was keeping tabs on her late last year which is why I had her in AltObits, seemed like a guarantee to me. Didn't pick her in anything else though because I thought she'd be a longshot for a QO, but yea I was terribly wrong on that front. My strategies for next year are gonna be mighty different. And yea I'm not too confident I'm gonna hold the lead here.

Lukas Lundin QO https://uk.news.yahoo.com/news/lucara-founder-former-chairman-director-153000910.html?guccounter=1

If I gather correctly I jump into the mix of potential winners with Michael Jopling
-
He got barely any local Canadian coverage of his illness, so it’s a tad surprising.
-
I would've picked him in Windy, but I didn't even think he'd get a CBC obit. Learning a lot this year.
-
Jason Di Tullio gets a QO but still nada for Hellstrom. You bet I’m gonna keep banging this drum.

Lukas Lundin is a hit for me

What do YOU do to not die/age as slowly as possible?

You can die tragically in an accident any day, any moment. I think coming to this realization relieves a lot of stress about death. -

Yea I think this is pretty much wrapped up at the half-way point. I feel pretty confident in surpassing Eesti with Reichert, Phelan and Steiner on the line. First seems out of reach though being down 23. A Hellstrom QO brings it down to 16. Croucher and Lieber are giving me fraud vibes, but who knows what's going on with them. Vialli's cancer is supposedly under control but pancan so take that with a grain of salt. Lewis and Alagiah seem like my best bets which would give me a 2 pt lead if no one else goes from your squad.
