They had the queen on their list when she was just 63?

I should have written this in my first reply to you: This is a British forum, and they require an obit in a British newspaper, most of the time. I know of two French members, who have extra shadow lists with French celebrities, one member has or had a list with German celebrities and someone had a list with Russian celebrities. Nobody here excludes Indian celebrities intentionally. India is a major player on the world stage. Many interesting people live there & I think that it' up to members like you, who are interested in this subject, to provide an informative list for us.

Salman Rushdie was born in Bombay. Shall we remind the Ayatollahs that he's still around? And Ben Kingley's real name is Krishna Pandit Bhanji. He's reportedly a great snob who demands that everybody calls him "sir". I can put him on my next shadow list, if it makes you happy.

Jack Nicholson pays tribute to Kobe Bryant. He sounds tired, but seems to be still in full possession of his mental faculites. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF3VfPkBp2Y

There's something true about the saying that irresistible boozers have a guardian angel. On january 7, Gérard Depardieu appeared on a Russian tv show and talked drivel, as usual. This time he compared Jesus to a roasted pig. I dislike blasphemy, but he has my sympathy, since catholic priests refused to baptize him not once, but twice: First time because his parents couldn't pay, second time because he sketched a nude woman (when he was ten). Anyway, Russian religious groups made a fuss about this small faux-pas. Austere religious scholar Vsevolod Chaplin even threatened to haul poor Depardieu before the courts. Yesterday this zealot dropped dead in front of a church. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vsevolod_Chaplin

I predict the grim reaper is going to be 'like a super strong enema 'in 2020

We had the Ukrainian airplane crash, the Australian bushfires, Megxit & the coronavirus. And now millions of grieving basketball fans. Perhaps 2020 will be more interesting than I thought. -
There are rumors on Twitter that he was the pilot.

Four other passengers died too. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7931909/Kobe-Bryant-dies-Calabasas-helicopter-crash.html Edit: He leaves a wife & four daughters. His youngest is just a baby. I'm no fan of American sports, but it must be a very sad day for his many fans.

I've got a tiny feeling that this year is going to be very disappointing in terms of celebrity deaths. Hope I'm wrong, though. -

Prince Charles snubs American VP Mike Pence & his wife at the World Holocaust Forum. Refuses to shake their hands. Edit: It was apparently fake news. -
RIP Terry Jones & congratulations to the deathlist committee for their excellent pick. I enjoyed the Monty Python films, but I'm comforted in knowing that death released him from his severe sufferings. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7916055/Monty-Python-star-Terry-Jones-died-aged-77-agent-says.html

There's a two months old CBS profile. She seems OK for her age. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iFb31c190U -
If my posting was the one that triggered all those shocked & facepalm reactions, then I apologize. I wasn't trolling. Deathlisters spend much time trying to discover symptoms of illness in the faces of celebrities & I thought they were the right people to ask. I only wondered about the last phase of the disease, when patients risk putting their lives in the hands of possibly cruel nurses & doctors who think that slow starvation means "dying in dignity".

I wonder why so many Americans die of cancer, since it's so easy to buy a gun in this country. Does this disease progress so quickly towards the end, or does the last phase come so surprisingly that it's no longer possible to react? I can't believe that people prefer an agonizing death, if they have a choice.

Your hit rate is usually admirable. This hit, however, won't give you a head start. Everybody has him on his or her list. -
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who can't add links.

I hate to suggest his name, but... Tom Courtenay. Here, I wrote it. I know, he's still working, but he's 82, fought prostate cancer in 2004 & had recent hip & eye operations. Why miss him like you missed Alan Rickman & Albert Finney? -
It's kind of weird that the queen, who seemed so often disoriented lately, is suddenly all there, yesterday, behind the wheel. As if Meghan's chutzpah had aroused her fighting instinct.
-
A couple of years ago she revealed that she suffered from breast cancer. It was treated with radiation, but she refused to undergo a chemotherapy. I wish her only the best, but will the committee be reckless enough to put some celebrity mom or dad on the 2021 list instead of her?

Dmitry Yasov (1924) is the last marshal of the Soviet Union still alive. He was one of the leaders of the august coup against Gorbachev in 1991. I just found out that four famous & very old opera singers (that I forgot to put on my lists) are still alive: Jane Berbié & Mady Mesplé (1931) Reri Grist (1932) Teresa Berganza (1935).
