Who Should Be On The 2019 Deathlist?

A writer for "Paris Match" claims that Michel Sardou has lung cancer. I realize that this tabloid is not a reliable source, though. Edit: They have many stories about older French celebrities. So it may not be a bad source for Deathlist-related news after all. https://www.francedimanche.fr/actualites/michel-sardou-frappe-par-un-cancer-foudroyant

    Olivia Newton-John

I put her name on my shadowlist, but I hope that Deathlist's decision to drop her this year is correct. I enjoyed her performance in "Grease" & certainly won't begrudge her one more summer basking in the sun after a swim in the ocean. Or two. Or three... Drunk? Bored?? Psychopath???

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2020

I should have paid attention to his operation, last May. (But the DL committee overlooked him too). -------------------------------------------------------- It just occured to me, that two persons are currently very much at risk: This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Iranian revolution. There will be extensive media coverage & a new generation of enterprising people will learn about the fatwa issued by Ayatollah Khomeini, calling for Salman Rushdie's assassination. There is also the Shah's eldest son, Reza Pahlavi, crown prince of Iran, who is still making eyes at the Peacock Throne.

Is there anything wrong with Ernst August's health? Why do you think he will meet his maker?

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2019

She's in bad shape, but she's still appearing in public & has kept her lucid mind. Judy Dench revealed a couple of years ago, that she is also slowly losing her vision, and Maggie Smith had to deal with breast Cancer. I wish these ladies a happy & healthy new year & a long life (as long as they enjoy it).

    Hosni Mubarak

He's able to walk & to talk. He's in rather good form for a ninety year old.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2019

How about Radovan Karadzic? He's 73 & looks healthy, but his verdict will be handed down next year & he may die of a heart attack like Slobodan Milosevic, or drink potassium cyanide like Slobodan Praljak, rather than spend the rest of his life in prison. All good things come in threes.

    Pope Benedict XVI

On Friday evening, Pope Francis visited the Pope emeritus in order to exchange Christmas greetings. https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2018-12/pope-francis-pays-christmas-visit-to-pope-emeritus-benedict-xvi.html

Who Should Be On The 2019 Deathlist?

Jacques Chirac. The former French president suffers from anosognosia & is no longer able to walk. His grandson, who visits him regularly, revealed that his illness is "patient & impatient". I think this means that he ought to be on next year's list. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anosognosia

    Ruth Bader Ginsburg

"Currently no further treatment is planned". In other words: the doctors think that she's not healthy enough to get through a chemotherapy. https://edition.cnn.com/2018/12/21/politics/ruth-bader-ginsburg-surgery/index.html

Who Should Be On The 2019 Deathlist?

Definitely. And there's a long list of very old actors & actresses who may go next year: Many deathlisters concentrate so much on centenarians & nonagenarians, that they forget that octogenarians, septuagenarians & sexagenarians die too. Jane Powell, Rhonda Fleming, Arlene Dahl, Angela Lansbury. Maggie Smith & Kim Novak (breast cancer). Micheline Presle, Zizi Jeanmaire, Brigitte Bardot. Michael Lonsdale, Alain Delon, Michel Piccoli. Monica Vitti, Gina Lollobrigida. Many famous German movie stars are still alive. Hardy Krüger, for instance. There are also many old opera singers. Jose Carreras looks more and more like a ghost.

    Hollywood Possibilities

Oh no! She was so good in "The Gauntlet" & "Sudden Impact". Very underrated actress. According to Wikipedia, Locke died on Nov 3, 2018 from cardiac arrest related to breast and bone cancer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sondra_Locke

    Dead Pop Stars

Bad decision. I'd rather die of heart failure, than risk that the cancer spreads to the bones or the brain.

    William Hurt

Joey Russ wrote that William Hurt has terminal prostate cancer. I would be relieved to learn that this is just a rumor, because I like his acting.

New Here And Just Saying Hello

I have been depressed & suicidal throughout all those years I cared for my mother, who suffered from dementia. I have taken meds for high blood pressure during the last months & now I'm the most even-tempered person on earth. Nothing upsets me, I have no desire to drink & I wonder whether the high blood pressure was the real cause of my depression & alcohol problems. I suggest to everyone who reads this, to take his or her blood pressure, because sometimes solutions to severe problems can be so simple. Blood pressure monitors are not expensive.

    Hollywood Possibilities

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-6478377/Desperate-Housewives-actress-Marcia-Cross-walks-arm-arm-husband-Tom-Mahoney.html "Desperate Housewives" actress Marcia Cross told the press that she is "post-cancer". According to imdb she has just completed a film & I hope of course, that the mother of two little children recovers. So I write this with a guilty conscience, but I remember too well that Farrah Fawcett died of anal cancer at the age of just 62, a couple of years ago.
  21. ThePrematureBurial

    William Hurt

According to imdb, he just completed two films & has another two films in pre-production. But this is not saying much, since actors like Alan Rickman worked until the end. He is definitely famous enough to deserve a place on next year's death list.

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

Jean-Louis Trintignant will celebrate his 88th birthday on tuesday reciting poetry on stage. https://culturebox.francetvinfo.fr/cinema/a-87-ans-trintignant-est-encore-avec-plaisir-au-cinema-et-au-theatre-283029 Michel Piccoli, however, who will celebrate his 93th birthday on december 27, has led a secluded life during the last years. I was not able to find recent photos/videos/interviews. He may possibly go before Trintignant.

Famous Swiss actress Liselotte Pulver (born 1929) is in excellent form. And I thought she's wasting away in a retirement home.

Who Should Be On The 2019 Deathlist?

Definitely an interesting candidate. Last August, Thailand's queen was being treated in a hospital for the flu. If she's still alive in three weeks, I will put her on my 2019 shadow list.
