Mozambique president says 1,000 may have died from Cyclone Idai. Currently, the official death toll is much lower. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-47609676 -
Yes, much more so than colon cancer. I'd found an article about him and an attempt by family & friends to fundraise, to cover his medical expenses. The article's tone wasn't dire, but I wrote his name down for possible future use.
-
Considered him for the Deathlist Cup, but figured he wasn't that close to dying.
-
Got even sadder. Turns out you could've also put him in the 'Suicidal Celebs' thread and it wouldn't have been inaccurate. https://www.ok.co.uk/celebrity-news/1561501/muggy-mike-cause-of-death-thalassitis-love-island-suicide

Busy times at the AO Deadpool, with Richard Erdman, Barbara Hammer, Dick Dale (who I did have in 2017) and Manohar Parrikar all being added in the latest update.

Stephen Rolfe Powell, an internationally renowned glass artist, has died. He was 67. https://www.aceweekly.com/2019/03/glass-artist-stephen-rolfe-powell-has-died/

I was waiting for someone to pick up on that. Decided not to deliver the punchline to my own reference.
-
Well, I guess we know which of the two proved more accurate.
-
But, unfortunately (at least for now), no closer to the top spot. I had Manohar Parrikar in the AO Deadpool and the Deathlist Cup, but not the Derby Dead Pool. Will be interesting if he gets a QO for the DDP. At least four people had Parrikar here, so no bonus points.
