  1. Edgar Fruitier, a French-Canadian actor with credits from the mid 1950s through 2017, whose career ended in disgrace when he was convicted of indecent assault in 2020 for acts in the 1970s, died November 29th. He was 94. Fruitier's death was being reported on December 12th. He had been suffering from Alzheimer's for some time.  (Cue the jokes about his surname.)

Former British Columbia premier Dave Barrett has died at the age of 87.

A statement from Premier John Horgan’s office says the former NDP premier died after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

    He died today in Victoria.

And now it's John Horgan who has died. The former Premier succumbed to his battle with cancer: https://globalnews.ca/news/10865455/former-bc-premier-john-horgan-dies-cancer/

    Those numbers are quite interesting.

The total may be fewer than 400,000 worldwide.

New Zealand had under 400 in 2020, including Sir Bom Gillies, last Māori Battalion veteran. Probably much less now.

Sir Bom Gillies,  last surviving member of the Māori Battalion, dead at 99: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/rotorua-daily-post/news/sir-robert-bom-gillies-the-last-28th-maori-battalion-soldier-from-rotorua-dies-age-99/EFZJ5XYR3BATLESLH2NTGXBQTM/
