Congratulations to my team Port Vale on reaching the Quarter Finals of the League Cup for the first time in the history of the football club.

It would appear Loren Cunningham died back on 6th October 2023. Can't see if there is a q/o
-
With Sir Bobby Charlton now dead (position 15) in this provisional list I would strongly consider replacing him with Sandra Day O'Connor. I am sure between now and late December I will have to make other adjustments.
-
The death of Sir Bobby Charlton takes me to 7 hits now in this pool
-
Jimmy Carter
-
Not that it matters as apart from Duvall none of the others would be competing for the main DL but Jacques Delord died back in June 2006.

Well I'm almost certain things will have changed by time we get to 1st January 2024 but if it doesn't this is what my shadow death list could look like: 1) Jimmy Carter, 2) Frank Field, 3) Henry Kissinger, 4) Nigel Starmer-Smith, 5) Ted Turner, 6) Glynis Johns, 7) Joanne Woodward, 8) Vera Miles, 9) Jacques Delors, 10) Sandy Gall, 11) Stanley Baxter, 12) Rosalynn Carter, 13) Esther Rantzen, 14) Norman Tebbit, 15) Bobby Charlton, 16) Franz Beckenbauer, 17) Linda Ronstadt, 18) Julie Goodyear, 19) Grace Slick, 20) Dickie Bird, 21) Michael Schumacher, 22) Celine Dion, 23) Bruce Willis, 24) Michael Caine, 25) Rob Burrow, 26) Joss Ackland, 27) Kenneth Cope, 28) Phil Collins, 29) Tim Curry, 30) Joan Plowright, 31) Cindy Birdsong, 32) Carroll Baker, 33) Geoffrey Boycott, 34) Paul Hogan, 35) Ricky Tomlinson, 36) Sonny Rollins, 37) Ethel Kennedy, 38) Linda Nolan, 39) James Whale, 40) William Russell, 41) Ray Anthony, 42) June Spencer, 43) Petula Clark, 44) Brian Blessed, 45) Michael Aspel, 46) Donald Sutherland, 47) Bill Oddie, 48) Vladimir Putin, 49) Shane MacGowan, 50) George Soros

I am now up on 12/30 after updating the deaths of Alan Arkin and Rolf Harris leaving just 18 on the list remaining.
-
@Sean I think this is a great list of ideas. Obviously minus the 4 deaths this year from your list (Carole Cook, Doreen Mantle, Winnie Ewing & Sylvia Syms) I think there is still great traction for next year with this list.

Jimmy Carter
-
Admins is there anything that you can do to register my vote with Jimmy Carter please? It would not let me do it when I attempted yesterday evening.
-
For whatever reason it has not registered my vote but I would go with Jimmy Carter
-
Bob Barker takes me to 6 hits in this pool.
-
Old flame Kevin Burke dead aged 77. Sorry unable to upload source.
-
I hate doing this but I am going to have a change from Jimmy Carter to Shane MacGowan
-
Make that four with me

Which A-list celebrity would receive the biggest media coverage if they died tomorrow?
Steve replied to Hartnell 1999's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Michael Schumacher for his legendary F1 status. To win a world championship once in any sport is a wonderful achievement but to win SEVEN times is phenomenal. It should be noted Schumacher didn't always have the best car either (the Ferrari pace was more at the pace of Eddie Irvine and Rubens Barrichello). Schumi would often have to win races through his talent, teamwork with Ross Brawn on strategy and his driving on the ragged edge style such as the Hungarian Grand Prix in 1998. Schumacher you deserve all the plaudits going whilst still alive with us and when you leave us!!! -
May I offer my congratulations @gcreptile for a stunning Death List Cup 2023 victory. If this was based on politics you have achieved a landslide. Also well done to all the other participants and commiserations to @alt obits guy.

Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Sir Cliff Richard, Barbra Streisand, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, Sir Bobby Charlton to name but a few -
This time last year for DL 2022 there were only 4 hits so DL 2023 is advanced by 5 with still so much more potential to come for the remaining part of the year I genuinely feel.

I am more interested to see if we start getting a clear out soon of drol's so called immortals who just seem to be hanging on forever no matter what health condition or life throws at them.
-
Thank you very much for this @Hanzem

I use to work in BBC local radio and the only two tracks I remember that we played quite regularly and quite liked were Lyin Eyes and Take It To The Limit. I am certainly no big fan of Hotel California.
