Our cat passed away this morning, 17 years old. First couple of years we barely saw her since she was always off on adventures and catching all sorts of animals. As she grew older she began to appreciate the luxuries of life indoors more and more, often allowed to stay inside during the evenings. Last month she had her 17th birthday and although she had some problems such as weight loss, I could still see her reach 18, let alone 2022. The last couple of days she went downhill quickly, not running anymore, eating less and often failing at jumping. Mom found her this morning, laying peacefully in her blanket. Only "good" I can think of is that she didn't suffer needlessly and we didn't have to let the vet put her down. She will be deeply missed, RIP Lisa

Zhu Jianqiang, pig that became famous in China after surviving the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, has died at the age of 14. The pig, also known as "Strong-Willed Pig" survived the earthquake, getting stuck under rubble and living on a bag of charcoal and rainwater before getting rescued after 36 days. It reached more fame (as far as that goes for pigs) in 2011 after getting cloned by Chinese scientists. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-57509236
