As an Italian I agree, for years he seems have to die but in the end he is perfectly fine for his age. The perfect Italian for 2022 would have been Giorgio Napolitano (or Vincenzo Mollica, but I don’t know how well known is abroad, he is one of the most famous Italian journalists).

I think it’s a good list, I like it, especially compared to the one I hated last year. Incomprehensible the absence of Frank Field and Pope Benedict XVI. As an Italian I tell you that it would have been much smarter to have included Giorgio Napolitano in Berlusconi’s place.

Thoughts and Opinions on the 2021 Deathlist
Funeralopolis replied to Charles De Gaulle's topic in DeathList Forum
a year ago, I thoroughly enjoyed the list: I was sure it would be record breaking. this year I don't understand many choices, both among the new and excluded names. the committee will surely know more than me, but if I can afford I am quite disappointed with this list, then maybe it will be a record. Shane McGowan, Dick Cheney, older names (Greenspan / Boothroy / LePen / Bacharach) much fitter than their peers (Gorbacev, King, Phyllida Law). sensational absences: Tom Smith, Carlos Menem (it would have been a sure hit), Bernard Tapie, Tom Parker, and more. i hope i am wrong, but i am very disappointed. -

Shane McGowan and not Tom Smith. I really can't understand how that's possible. What's the reason? -

I’m italian and here it’a night but it’s already a tragedy, he was a real hero for us. We’re all shocked, no one expected it. My parents had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago, besides being a champion he was also a good person, kind to everyone.
