Yes and it will be probably 20 with Gabriel de Broglie too ! Traditionnaly, there is 1 or 2 deaths by year at French Academy, but the last was in 2023 with Hélène Carrère d'Encausse. With 3 of the oldest members of Academy in the list : Cheng, Fernandez and de Broglie, I hope that we will have 1 or 2 hits this year...

Interesting the names but a lot of them are still very active Lionel Jospin and Pierre Richard, or not especially famous in France like Claudine Longet or André Oumansky. It could be the year for Jean Sorel or Jacques Charrier, and also for Gérard Depardieu that could be the biggest miss if he dies this year.
