I doubt there will be a by-election in his seat before the next GE: an investigation will take months, then assuming a penalty eligible for a recall petition is recommended and voted on, a likely appeal, recall petition duration and then by-election campaign period would altogether go beyond when the next election can be called by. Scott Benton is drawing his process out long enough that were there a May election he'll get away with no by-election, although given he's had the whip removed and it's a marginal seat he's not going to be the MP after that election regardless.

It's not the same partner of his, but this does remind me of this Commons' exchange: -
"The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the axe, for the axe was clever and convinced the trees that because his handle was made of wood, he was one of them." - Turkish proverb Trump and similarly minded folk in a nutshell.

There's too much money in US politics and most of it goes to whoever the donor/bribery class most thinks will keep the status quo, younger politicians probably want change more but for this reason can't raise the money to get through an election campaign. It's not just Presidential candidates either, the average age of the Senate is 64 years. The whole system needs ripping up and being rebuilt from scratch, but it's looking very difficult to achieve this peacefully.

Given all the ironic names among MPs leaving in disgrace, when I saw Skidmore was resigning I first thought he'd been involved in a public shitting incident.

If the next hit comes by the end of tomorrow, does that constitute a Deathlist hat-trick?

2022 had 2 hits in the first 10 days then went quiet till April.

In 2012 the late Sean Lock joked that Felix Baumgardner's dive to break the sound barrier wasn't the most extreme thing an Austrian has ever done. I'd argue the dive wasn't even the second-most extreme thing an Austrian's done.

Basically if you want a "top honour" in this country, be ultra-loyal to whoever is in charge, and/or have some very damaging dirt on the leader so that you can blackmail them into a gong for silence. -
She was, the obit on her item of that list ended with the quote: "She was earmarked for the top spot on DeathList 2022 before some hasty reorganisation…"

Given all these scandals involving individuals with ironic names, how long before Greg Hands is suspended while allegations into handjobs are investigated? -
The most pro-Israel policy he pursued was declaring Jerusalem their official capital.

I was thinking how has Trump managed to not have a heart attack given the frequent rage he's shown at his age? Then I remembered he doesn't have one.

I prefer to call him Mark Fatcois. -
The most recent photo I can find of her is the official Coronation photo, where she appears second from the right. It looks like both the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are holding her upright, but she appeared to be using a walking stick for a while before so there may not be much to read into this:

If his dementia is advanced enough (or will be if he's around at the next election), would he be able to acknowledge/remember who the Government is?
