Her seat is for election due next year, had she lived that long she would have stepped down then.

Reminds me of this Mock the Week line: "I don't know why you're so upset Harry. The original Dumbledore died 3 films ago and no-one gave a s**t". Definitely a brilliant actor though and enjoyed many of his scenes despite not being the original.

Yes there are plenty of individuals/world leaders who've done very bad things, but Murdoch has controlled media that ensured those individuals gained/held power in the first place, some of the bad things they did were also done because Murdoch made them conditional for his support, and also demonised anyone who tried to reveal the truth about them.

IMO no-one alive today has done more damage to the world as a whole than this one individual.

While it might leave the headlines, I wouldn't rule out stuff happening behind the scenes; I'm pretty sure the broadcasters who have announced internal investigations will keep them going until conclusion, for example.

He'd be a better running mate than Harris even in his current state.

You've reminded me of the last joke on Mock the Week last year, from Rhys James: "Well that's it for Mock the Week, as is tradition with BBC Execs once something gets to 17 years ago they're no longer interested."

He also recited the "First they came..." poem, despite the fact he has attacked almost every group in that poem at some point through his hateful ramblings.

As amusing as the prediction is, I did wonder this myself when the speculation came out yesterday.

It's dropped: accused of rape and sexual assault between 2006 and 2013 by multiple women who've broken their silence

Seems fitting to share this venn diagram:

It's also in the UK's Daily Express, but if anything they lower the credibility of the reports further.

The article you link to says he died on the 30th August (of old age).

Al-Fayed's death now means a full 10 hits have occurred since Jimmy Carter started receiving hospice care.
-
It is, but at the time of writing they don't have a box at the top warning readers that the subject's recent death means it may contain unreliable information.

My feeling is that those who wield the power in the US (politicians, party donors, etc.) generally like the status quo, and, with exceptions, many politicians/figures who are younger hold views that do not align with the status quo (on both left and right), so the "better the devil you know" mindset keeps the current crop of politicians in power for as long as possible. Either that or the current crop's selfishness/greed extends to physically blocking up seats in Government forever.

Rudy Giuliani among others who've surrendered today have had mugshots taken, so we could look forward to one tomorrow from Trump:

If I've counted correctly, that's 8 candidates now who've gone since Carter started receiving hospice care.
