I heard his son Lachlan is currently in line to be the successor, and is already heavily involved in the operations of NewsCorp and Fox. He's also seen as more extreme than his father, which must be really bad considering how extreme Rupert already is. Another problem he might pose is if the UK ever manages to bring in a law banning foreign media ownership, unless a rule is brought in banning dual nationality ownership, Lachlan can still own media in the UK (having been born here) as well as the US and potentially Australia as well.

The recall petition for Margaret Ferrier has closed and the results are due Tuesday afternoon. If at least 10% of constituents signed it there will be a by-election.

Brilliant presenter and huge loss to the world of reporting.

And the expansion was expedited because the national govt made it a condition for a TfL bailout due to covid's financial impact.

Irrespective of this banking saga, Farage is IMO the political equivalent of thrush: unpleasant and keeps coming back.

Part of me wishes they had offended the whole country with the Hillsborough stuff, as maybe then a nationwide boycott would have sent them packing much earlier.

If true I really hope to The S*n get the s**t sued out of them. That "newspaper" is long overdue a death sentence.

I don't know how big "following the herd" is among UK voters, but if Selby switches that might make trying to flip Tamworth easier on the basis some voters would see Labour surging and believe that's the way to go.

The Chris Pincher report from the Standard's Committee is due tomorrow, and reports are that a suspension of at least 10 days will result, which would allow a recall petition. Given the current political climate the profile this story had when it first emerged, a by-election resulting looks likely. https://twitter.com/nickeardleybbc/status/1676591574635954184 https://twitter.com/HarryYorke1/status/1676595032109858818

Don't know how seriously to take this, although if any outlets go with this it would sound credible: https://twitter.com/igorsushko/status/1675215118890864640 (Due to Twitter problems if this doesn't load this user is claiming Kadyrov is on his deathbed and unable to speak)
