    Queen Elizabeth II

I expect if she gets covid as a result she'll survive it: covid has got milder over the last 2 years and she'll have had every vaccine shot she's eligible for. That said if she did pass on as a result it would be quite the downgrade from the Battle of Bosworth when it comes to heirs overthrowing the monarch.

    King Charles III

I agree, but much of the media landscape has resorted to clickbait celebrity gossip now, and covid has provided an abundance of opportunities for it, as every person even remotely famous who tests positive is now worth a full headline. Unless a critical mass of the population is educated in critical thinking, or at least wake up to the reality of media behaviour these days, nothing will change.

    Queen Elizabeth II

Yes I recall a rumour many years ago of the Queen planning to announce her abdication in her Christmas speech, which of course never materialised. I don't think it's beyond the bounds though that she de facto abdicates, in which she's still head of state but 99% of her duties are carried out by Charles and other family members, should her health deteriorate to the point this is necessary (this could make State Openings of Parliament interesting).

Let's see how long before this gets debunked:

    Ideas and possibilities for 2023

Sir Kenneth Grange maybe worth considering, he'll be 93 this year and is a famous industrial designer for, among other products/objects, the Intercity 125 trains.

    Boris Johnson

Wouldn't be surprised if by lunchtime we hear news that the number of letters needed for a challenge has been reached, particularly given the latest bombshell dropped by the paper arguably most loyal to Johnson. In a different era I wonder if Johnson and/or the staff involved in that party on the eve of Prince Philip's funeral would have been hung for treason?

Johnson knows a thing or two about getting "Dick out".

Good to see Gorbachev back and Pele is one not to miss if he goes this year.

Who Should Make the Deathlist in 2022?

Yes not just because of his age but because we need at least one name on the list that we can cheer the demise of, now Limbaugh's gone. I also think George Alagiah should be considered, who unfortunately isn't very lucky with cancer and had to start another break from the News last October: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2021/oct/18/bbcs-george-alagiah-to-take-break-from-tv-after-cancer-spread

    Queen Elizabeth II

I saw someone joking online that about life in Britain in 2025, which included something along the lines of King Andrew celebrating a year on the throne after the Queen's ascension and the strange assassination of Charles, William and Harry at a Spectator garden party. (They didn't mention William's children but presumably that ruined the flow)

We can't let the Queen go until the Platinum Jubliee has passed, we need to ring out every last possible day off possible

    Queen Elizabeth II

Prince Edward did her speech at the Synod, which must have been an honour of sorts if he's deputising for her. Then again maybe Charles and Anne had plenty of other commitments on, and I won't gloss over the absence of the third one.

I think any user who is believed to over hyping the Queen's health problems is no worse than the Metro with their front page tomorrow:

    Queen Elizabeth II

If they wait that long after the Queen's death, whenever it is, Charles won't even live to see his own coronation if we're not careful

    Queen Elizabeth II

How long before she emulates her late husband's driving style, the difference being she doesn't exactly have a licence to hand over afterwards?

    Queen Elizabeth II

This might not be the end for her, but maybe she is now entering the phase of regular ailments and hospital visits that Prince Philip went through before his time came.

    Ideas and possibilities 2022

James Brokenshire revealed recently his lung cancer has progressed and treatment is taking longer than expected as a result. Sounds like a potential candidate for next year's list if he makes it to 2022:

    Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

Frankie Boyle on his New World Order show put forward the argument "We have 12 hours left to abolish the monarchy", in an episode that aired on the evening of their Royal Wedding. When he was asked why we only have 12 hours, Frankie replied that the original motion was "Prince Philip will die on the day of the royal wedding, as a final act of racism", but the producers wouldn't allow it. Despite that they allowed Frankie mentioning that was the original plan into the final recording.
