This would not be disastrous provided none of the tracks provided potential material/self-promotional opportunities for Lily Allen.

Yesterday? Everyone else in the world has had a go at it so why shouldn't Macca have revisited it twice himself...

Er - no Good song, mind! thought not, but have no clue personally, and from harrymcnally's seemingly informed comment above I thought of sweet's Blockbuster as the chinnichap no 1 and Jean Genie - with a similar riff - preceded it by a few months (although Blockbuster was written and recorded several months before it was issued, when Jean Genie was not yet in the public domain). Part of your clue suggests soft cell's wonderful 'Sex Dwarf' although that was never a single. Anyway, as above I don't know so will retire and wait for someone else who does.

Kick-starting this thread with a rather sweet debut hit for a UK singer-songwriter who had a further half dozen in the 70s, one of which was a duet.

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread

Beaten candidate - Layla Moran - is my local MP and a nice caring, hard-working sort according to friend of mine who is an active LibDem. Earlier this year however, she came out as pan sexual and embarked on a relationship with a woman who had just been sacked as a press officer by the LibDems for misusing members' personal data. Don't care personally who she sleeps with but even the wokest of LibDems must have wondered what kind of a field day the Tory Press would have at a GE over a lack of political judgement regarding her sleeping partner. Davey is the safe but boring choice. Hopefully Moran tries again next time. -

Football Manager Sacking Bingo 2
Great Uncle Bulgaria replied to Miracle Aligner's topic in Dead Pools
As it seems our illustrious host has been permanently banned from the forum, I guess it's up to us to monitor our own teams' hits and post updates accordingly. I'll undertake to monitor hits on his team, at least until such time as he returns with a different hat on. Still on just the one hit so far. To absent friends... -
So .. What Do You Watch On TV?
Great Uncle Bulgaria replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
We (particularly GAB, who fancies the lead) have been watching The Last Kingdom, which isn't wonderful, but decidedly better than average. Keep finding myself rooting for the Danes who, whilst a little bloodthirsty, are a lot more honourable - and less devious - than most of the English characters. Continuity is a bit off though - series 1 started with Alfred becoming King, half way through series 3 he is dying but neither he, the leading man or indeed any of the other characters that have survived thus far look a day older than they did at the outset, which - given Alfred ruled for nearly 30 years - is some achievement -

Gives me no pleasure to advise that, after leading Weymouth to back to back promotions (hurrah), a league club have spotted this and Mark Molesley is the new Southend Manager. Anyway, two hits in one day, something I will never manage at Deadpooling... www.southendunited.co.uk/ -

Do you mean Hofmeister? -
I have just noticed that I failed to notice I had picked Little Richard twice (14 & 25) on my team. I will belatedly replace him with Jerry Lee Lewis who as a surviving 50s rock'n'roller seems the most approprate substitute. There seems little hope of my team ever getting close to the top end of the leaderboard (only 3 dead so far) so unlikely to impact anyone.

Really sorry to hear that, has happened to me before so know what it feels like. Hope you get fixed up with something appropriate for your talents and experience soon. -
Yay, injury time winner! 3-2! Final v Dartford next week. Sure you're all fascinated..... Was away at the weekend with no wifi access so didn't post but sure you're all delighted to learn there was a happy ending (!) with the mighty Terras triumphing 3-0 against Dartford (who put all three over the bar) in a penalty shoot out to clinch back to back promotions. Now in the National League. Some of our best players are loanees from Bournemouth (our manager doubles as Cherries' U23 coach) and Eddie Howe's going could be bad news for us. Hopefully current assistant manager (and former Weymouth manager) Jason Tindall gets the job and the good relationship continues.
