    General Election 2024?

With the current awful weather it’s very sensible to not talk about climate change. Voters tend to doubt its happening when it’s freezing in June and non stop cloudy and lots of rain.

Zero chance Labour or any majority government will bring in PR without being forced to by a coalition agreement. Even then it might only be a referendum which probably wouldn’t pass.

    General Election 2024?

Peter Mandelson has been campaigning in Islington North. He must be thinking Labour are in with a good chance of beating Jeremy Corbyn. Lord Mandelson wouldn’t bother to go if it was looking like a landslide win for Corbyn. Labour themselves would tactically retreat as well and focus on their London target seats as well

This is why I think a hung parliament is still very much entirely possible (Even with the fact polls and on the ground reports suggest they might not be a Tory to Labour swing in London) A less out of sync with the polls by election Result in Scotland through.

Correct. The Phillipines is a pretty nice place from what o have heard and all the Filipinos I’ve met here in the UK have been lovely.

I think it’s because Polls tend to show Corbyn is now fairly toxic with pretty much anyone who didn’t vote Labour in 2019. Expelling him and being so critical seems to be the only way to win back many of the marginals bit it’s obviously at the cost of many voters but these are disproportionately in safe seats. Labour’s vote looks like it will become a lot more efficient than it has been for the last few elections. ( Remember in 2005 Labour won a large majority being only a few points ahead of the Tories and getting less votes in England then them).

Most likely but I wouldn’t be shocked if she suddenly declared post election she wanted the job instead.

The problem with the SNP manifesto is it’s basically just them repeating their Holyrood policies and a set of wish lists for the areas they can’t control. So it’s harder to make an impact from a Westminster manifesto.

I think the Immigration stuff is very much somethine that is simply an electoral necessity rather than an idea the whole the front bench are fully happy about. Ditto to a much greater extent Welfare - many of the front bench have publicly criticised the two child limit over the years and I suspect will be a fault line going forward. (Through actually one of the biggest could well be Trump’s re-election - the Greens could gain a lot of support from Labour voters from now that is dealt with. ) And from someone in England good luck to Scotland as well.

    FIFA World Cup Players

Eastham one of what was reasonably common in those days to go to a tournament uncapped then.. Of the other two who went to the 1962 World Cup uncapped Alan Peacock debuted during the World Cup but Jimmy Adamson never got a cap (Ted Burgin, Ken Green, Harry Hooper in the 1954 squad and Maurice Setters in the 1958 squad (But he didn’t travel) the only others to be in a tournament squad and never get a cap.)

I wonder how many England Players who played under Walter Winterbottom are left. Bryan Douglas and Colin McDonald from 1958 squad with Alan Peacock and George Eastham from the 1962 squad but surely they are others who didn’t go to a tournament.

I suspect Reform will be the very big beneficiaries but on the left the Greens might get a bit as well from voters who Farage would never appeal to.
