The floodgates have opened, as this is the third death on my top 50 list in the past week. This was certainly a sensible pick by the committee, and one I couldn't ignore as well. RIP.

Dammit this sucks. Doesn't sound like Bossy has much time left at all. What a legendary player he was.

I brought her up on page 4, on January 5. And I didn't even know she was allegedly unwell, as she was still attending games up to that point (late in the 2021 NFL season). Add that to being 99, and yeah, would seem to be a decent bet.

After a few months of nothing, my second hit this week after Tom Parker, and third of the year. She was a really funny lady and made me laugh with glee during her Seinfeld appearances. May she RIP.
-
Damn. If he has primary progressive aphasia, life expectancy from that diagnosis is 3-12 years.
-
Yeah this should have been a fairly obvious play. October 2020 diagnosis. It's never a good bet that someone will live for more than 27 months with this condition. It's terribly sad, of course.

Hey, I take offense to that! (I totally do not take offense to that.)

I don't know how many of you saw the Oscars telecast, but I also thought that Francis Ford Coppola looked like he has declined a bit. He's 82 now. It seems to me that his face looks more gaunt than it used to, and his voice was a bit raspy as well. Perhaps one to keep an eye on.
-
I was thinking that maybe Olivia de Havilland appeared at the Oscars a little before she died, but silly me. Even though she appeared at the 2011 show at the age of 95, she still made it for 9 more years, of course. And she looked very good at that appearance, mind you, a hell of a lot better than Liza looked just the other night, unfortunately for Liza.
-
Yeah it really was. She didn't look like a person who is going to be alive in a few years. The physical frailty was obvious, but she wasn't even all-there mentally, either. It was clear she was disoriented pretty easily and Gaga, bless her, really tried to help her out and offer support.
-
That was really tough for me to watch. She didn't look good at all.

Johnny Grier, the NFL's first black referee, has died at the age of 74. From what I remember, I thought he was actually a pretty good official, and I think most of them are terrible. RIP. -
He might make 2023. Would be outright shocked if he makes 2024. Glioblastoma is just an insidious form of cancer, it's rare that someone lives for more than 2 years with it, and it can go downhill really, really quickly. I watched my cousin die of it. It sucks. Given that he's almost certainly going to die this year or next year, I kept him on my list. Hey, I'd love to be wrong, but the odds aren't in Mr. Parker's favor.

This is Mills with her partner Firdous Bamji in 1997. She does look like she's aged a lot more than 25 years since.

Hall Of Fame coach Bill Fitch has died at the age of 89. He was a two-time Coach Of The Year in the NBA, and won a championship in 1981 with the Celtics, as Larry Bird's first NBA coach. -

And Shapiro died yesterday, as announced by his family. -
Or 6 days, a la the last People article on Betty White!
-
He's actually made it 23+ years after a near-fatal stroke, so for him to still be able to attend the AO in person is great. I do agree he looks a bit worse than a couple of years ago, but he could still have quite a few more years in him yet.

Denver-area TV and radio personality Les Shapiro, most known for his association with the Denver Broncos, is in hospice care, his family announced on his Facebook page. -
Not completely unexpected, as he's been very frail for a while. I didn't have the guts to have him on my personal list for this year but he has been on my radar for a while. He was a unique talent for sure. May he RIP.
-
Yeah, and they are both very old and very frail.
-
Big-time shocker death here. If you look at him in that social media post from last night, he looks very healthy and nowhere near 65 years of age. Like a previous poster said, I'll guess heart attack as well. I actually attended the live taping of the Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget in 2008. Of the people on that dais, we've lost Greg Giraldo, Cloris Leachman, Norm MacDonald, and now Saget. I have a couple of Hollywood tv/movie contacts, one of whom had worked with Saget, and apparently he was an extremely kind and gracious man with anyone he came in contact with. People loved the guy, and his reputaton among his fellow comics was sterling.

Wonder if this could be a sign that the end is near, similar to Sean Connery selling his French villa. The article says he's relocating to the East Coast, but you always have to file this type of information away. Could very well add him to the list of strong 2023 possibilities, especially given what we already know from 2013 regarding his health.
-
I did notice that. He's already frail anyway, of course. This could be the year.
-
Richard Williams, the 79-year-old father of tennis stars Venus and Serena, is very frail, had a stroke a few years ago, and his son has power of attorney over him. I will add him to my 2023 list, if he makes it that far. (Apologies if anyone has posted Mr. Williams as a consideration already in this thread.)
