^ Adding him to my 2021 watchlist right now. Good call here, I think.

While I don't agree with everything you're saying as it relates to the Democrats, of course I agree that all of the problems didn't start with Trump. In my view, my country jumped the proverbial shark a long time ago, and it's now becoming clear to most of the world. However, there is no question in my mind that Trump has essentially put more logs on the fire. He's exacerbated and accelerated everything.

As an American, I remember growing up and seeing "lesser" authoritarian countries commit atrocities, and I couldn't believe it and looked down on it. We are now one of those "lesser" authoritarian countries. There's no other way to slice it.

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?

I think he was going to pick Harris anyway, but, yes, Klobuchar's chances are pretty much done now. The obvious ace pick would be Michelle Obama, but with no indication that she would do it (unless this is the Democrats' surprise), Harris seems like the logical choice. Indeed, she is the clear favorite in betting markets. -

We just don't know what kind of cancer it is. I saw it on another article described as a "treatable but aggressive form of cancer." Definitely needs to be put on watch lists. -
I agree that it would be a mistake to drop her, at this point, as unfortunate as that is. I thought she was finally showing some slippage late last year, and I agree with Miracle Aligner that the story that was just put out there was by her publicist and essentially tells us nothing. I believe she's still somewhat active and isn't in a similar state as Barbara Walters, let's say, but at her advanced age and with the slippage I noted, I don't think she has a lot of time left. And I hate writing that. I love this woman!

I actually don't think he looks gaunt. I was expecting much worse. James Caan in that photo of him in the wheelchair, now that's gaunt.

Another Hall of Fame coach has passed away, this time from the college ranks, as Eddie Sutton has died at the age of 84. -
Basketball Hall Of Famer and current Georgetown coach Patrick Ewing announces that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

The tenth hit on my Top 50. Rest easy, coach. -

Yeah, I believe the usual life expectancy with Lewy body is 5-7 years, but he also has Parkinson's. And when you look at those July 2019 reports that he was "dying", and when you combine that with Malone's public pleas yesterday, it paints a pretty grim picture. Maybe he sees 2021 (I'm guessing not, though), and if he does, he should be a popular joker candidate for teams next year. -

After the Michael Jordan "The Last Dance" docuseries ended last night, and with both episodes last night featuring the Bulls' wins in the Finals over the Utah Jazz in 1997 and 1998, Karl Malone is asking for prayers for Sloan. -
Former player and executive Bob Watson has died at the age of 74. He was twice an All-Star as a player, and compiled a solid career batting line of .295-.364-.447, good enough for a 129 OPS+. He was the first African-American GM to oversee a team winning a World Series in 1996 with the Yankees.

Former MLB player and manager Art Howe is in a Houston hospital in the ICU as he battles COVID-19. Doesn't seem to be a dire situation, though of course that could change quickly.
-
Good call to those who had him. What a funny man he was. Rest easy, Mr. Costanza.
-
Gotta get a younger actor, at least to play him in his younger years when he first became a superstar. Maybe someone like Trevor Jackson. Dude has gotta be pretty lol.
-
I have to agree with you.

My ninth Top 50 hit this year. The fan mail nugget of info really got him onto the radar for me, more than he otherwise would have been.
-
Absolutely. You never know. Of course, it's still wise to play the odds game, in general. If you're looking for deathlist-y picks, someone suffering from glioblastoma for longer than 12 months is going to be a strong pick for any upcoming year, and if it's been more than 18 months the odds go up even more.
-
Yeah, as someone who had Chris Doleman in his #1 spot on his Top 50 list, this was just an oversight by me. It's now been two years since her glioblastoma surgery. Would be a big statistical outlier if she sees 2021.

Just two losing seasons in 33 years as a head coach. Legend. Also becomes my eighth hit so far. RIP. -
He's had 4 plane mishaps since 1999, including 3 since 2015. Somebody take this dude's license!

Do you think she's more likely to die before the others I listed, just curious? I think I'd have Samu at the top of that 4-person list but I don't really know where to place Matilda.
-
Yep, Matilda The Hun is 71 and lives within a 20-minute drive from me in Seal Beach, California. (Not that I know her personally or anything.) According to Wikipedia, she has wrestling-related spinal deterioration. I didn't have her on my list for this year, but perhaps I should have; do you think she's as strong of a pick as people like Mr. Wonderful or Kamala or Samu?
