Yep; her daughter said she died after a "brief illness."

The celibacy cone of shame.

I'm sorry to hear that. And that second part is unfortunate.

Moonstruck is one of those absolutely perfect movies.

Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg announced on Instagram that he is beginning treatment for metastatic prostate cancer. How truly sad, both because of the prognosis of this condition and because, well, it would have been entirely preventable if he had simply gone to the doctor for yearly physicals. It can take up to 8 years, from what I gather, for prostate cancer to metastasize, so he had to go years without a physical. The average life expectancy with this condition is 21 months, and the 5-year survival rate is 28%. He's 64 and he's going to die young over something that was completely preventable. GET YOUR ANNUAL PHYSICAL, FOLKS.

Yeah, it won't be him; that doesn't help Trump in any way. The GOP now has Florida locked up in presidential elections, and DeSantis is also hard-right so it doesn't really help him pull from the pool of swing voters in swing states. Pence was a strategic pick to try to get Evangelicals; we'll see where his campaign goes this time.

He does look better than he did last year, the bastard! Ha. Seriously though, there's still some weakness/rasp to his voice, but I agree with arrowsmith that he sounds and looks better, and I'd even offer that he doesn't look as gaunt.

Joan Collins ultra glamorous British actress and Hollywood star
MrWonderful replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList Forum
She's 90 fucking years old! Just to be out and about in public is an achievement in and of itself. She can move around and stand unaided, and to get herself to look that glamorous, I don't care if it took 5 hours of the best makeup artists in the world, it's impressive. Again, 90 fucking years old! -

At the Emmys last night, presenting an award with Taraji P. Henson. She looks fantastic. Glamorous and elegant, just as you might expect. -
Yep, and I regret not adding him to my Top 50.
-
Couldn't read the article. Is he actually sick with anything or suffering from a particular affliction?
-
He does indeed, which is why I've resisted adding him to my list, similar to Dick Van Dyke. Of course, at that age, anything could happen, but I think there are much better choices out there.
-
Damn. A clear pick for '25 if he can make it there. Alex Trebek lasted a bit longer than people expected, so maybe he can, too.
-
I really liked him on Designated Survivor, which is an underrated show that ended too quickly. RIP.
-
This is how I feel with Dick Cheney, who has been on my list for at least a couple of years. I'm committed to the bit, at this point.

No. In fact, I didn't even know who these other 3 people were, frankly, until looking at some of the other threads in more detail very late in the year, as I so often do when I think about my lists for the following year. Being an American, I was certainly familiar with Yarborough, if not his health situation until checking the threads. The other 3 were Pravrajika Amalaprana, Vijayakanth, and Rotimi Akeredolu. (And through all of this, Jimmy Carter lives. Amazing!) Every once in a while, I'll offer an opinion on if I think a person looks like they are very sick or something, but it's other people on here who are so great with actually providing info that I find actionable. I just try my best to follow through on the info that's available on here. This site is the best I've seen for dead pooling.

I lost him too, so based on my subs list, it looks like Julian Assange is the next person up.
-
This is pretty amazing. Honestly, this is the 4th name within the past 72 hours that was going to go on my '24 List!

I just think he looks like a man who is dying. In those photos of him from late 2022, that just didn't look to me like someone who lost a lot of weight from gastric bypass surgery. He looked very, very sick to me. He could barely walk, in that video of him at a red carpet event, actually needing assistance, it looked like. There hasn't been any information that has been released as far as a specific illness that he may or may not have, but I'm just going with my eyes on this one, that's all. Has anyone had a positive update on him being out and about in public and looking spry? Until I see something like that, he's staying on my list if he continues to have that look to me like he's very sick. Also, I found this, from an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, where the article notes that when the show came back from commercial, Jackson was already seated, so they didn't actually show him on camera walking onstage. That almost certainly means that he either needed assistance walking to the stage, or that he can barely walk. And he still looks sick to me. Judge for yourself.

Polster's surgery deemed successful.

I see that info now. Thank you! Hopefully for her sake, she didn't have a relapse.

Too bad he didn't fall during the sermon. That was so incredibly uncomfortable to watch. (I kid, I kid, about the falling stuff. Not about how terrible his sermon was.)

Regarding Walters, stats suggest that 65% of stage 3 bowel cancer patients survive for 5 years after diagnosis. She was diagnosed in 2018. And if it's been radio silence on her since she was forced to pull out of that TV show in May of this year, yeah, I do agree that there are some worrying tea leaves with her.
