Dustin Diamond, if he happens to make it almost another full year with stage 4 cancer. Just 44 years old, also.

    Dustin Diamond

    Stage 4, damn.

Well, there's a guaranteed 2021 hit. Looks like he will go mere months after Horn died.

Shirley Povich was a longtime sports columnist for the Washington Post. And, yes, he was Maury Povich's father.

Thanks for that info. I think I'll keep him in 8th position, behind Mr. Wonderful (naturally) and ahead of Ric Flair.

Yeah, the latter is surely not a help, but that may not affect him. I wonder how serious the throat cancer reoccurence is. I ask because I have my 2021 Draft coming up with my buddies. I've tentatively moved him up to 8th on my Wrestler list.

It's probably earlier in the thread, but is the reappearance of his cancer considered a death sentence?

I met Mr. Lasorda in 1998 on a flight, when he was the interim GM of the Dodgers. He was very nice and signed a piece of paper for me and we chatted (very briefly) about the Dodgers. May he rest in peace.

Could see 2022. Will not see 2023. Just like Doleman. Could see one further calendar year than possibly anticipated. Not two.

    I concur.

Legendary former Dodgers announcer Vin Scully's wife of 47 years, Sandi, has passed away from ALS at the age of 76. Scully has endured a lot of tragedy in his life, as his first wife, Joan, died of a drug overdose in 1972. He then wed Sandi a year later. To see your wife of 47 years go before you do, particularly when she's 17 years younger than you are, I'm sure it has to be devastating. His eldest son, Michael, died in 1994 in a helicopter crash at just 33 years of age. As Scully is 93, you have to wonder if this could lead to a quick deterioration. I certainly hope not. I suppose this could have gone into the ALS thread, too.

    44. Ted Turner

Interesting. I thought it was a little too early to think he could go in '21, as he was diagnosed in Sept. 2018 and the usual life expectancy is 5-7 years. But perhaps he already was suffering from it for a bit and it went undiagnosed at first. Must be the case if he's already in the late stages, as the article suggests.

Oh no doubt. I think of him as the South African villain in the second Lethal Weapon film and as the Russian ambassador in The Hunt For Red October.

Little actually died on January 1, Westphal on January 2.

    Larry King

It would be in America, for sure. Yeah, he was already on borrowed time for his heart issues, but this will make it an even earlier death, assuming he does succumb to it.

When TMZ reported that his estranged wife was told by his doctors that he was "dying", I believed it. TMZ doesn't get crap like that wrong. He was probably fortunate to see 2021 as it is, and now you add this? Maybe he still has a miracle in him yet, but this doesn't look good.

Shocked he wasn't on the list.

    Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

I like it. Getting Daniel Arap Moi vibes with this one, like he could be dead before the end of winter.

    The 1st Death of 2021?

    The Ayatollah.
  22. Normally I would be all-in on the likelihood of death regression in 2021, but the more I look at it, I'm not so sure. There are so many quality picks who seem like solid bets, at least to me. We shall see. Perhaps we don't get 20, but I don't think it will be as low as 10, let's say. I'd set the Over/Under at 17.5.

Besides being very old, have you seen/heard anything specific regarding Severinsen's health? Norman Lear is even older, although he still seems mentally there at 98.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2021

Made a few alterations, with one a necessity following the death of Pierre Cardin. Decided to drop Shannen Doherty, Ric Flair, Sandra Day O'Connor, Pele, and David Crosby as well.
