You are on a forum that treats death as a points system (nothing wrong with that IMO) and you're mad at me for potentially hurting the feelings of people on the forum who's relatives have died below the age of 80? Mate that is almost all of us, myself included. I would honestly never shame anyone over their dead relatives, as that is just plain low and unfunny. My maternal grandmother's side of the family is the same. Not many in that family made it past 70, very few made it past 80. Matter of fact, I'm not the healthiest person either - considering the fact that I am a smoker, I drink regularly and I have fattened up a lot over quarantine (not to the point of obesity but as of recent I have become more or less of a thicc boi).

How does someone even calculate the maximum life span? Surely this is just based on guessing.

According to 2019 figures: we have approx. 500,000 people living in the UK who are over 90. We also have 14,430 people who are over 100. The ages of living WWII vets range from 93 to 105. You've got a percentage of people like my great grandfather (who is still alive at 94) who were involved in the war but did not fight in it. I reckon most of the pieces are there for an accurate estimation, although we'll probably find out in the 2021 census next year (depending on how long COVID lasts).
