There ought to be a rock journalists thread. Some of them from the 70s and 80s are gone already.

Has any famous person ever commented on seeing their name in a death list? I'd be curious to know what Dick Van Dyke or Cleo Laine or whoever thought.

Did they ever have any other era? Virtually every one of their album covers is basically just a picture of Mick Hucknall.

"Lula da Silva" sounds more like an exotic dancer.

l was startled to see "Sam Fox" dead on Wikipedia. Of course it'd be "Samantha" if it was that Sam Fox.

It'll definitely be one of those era-marking/memento-mori deaths when Robert Smith goes.

They were only minor members of their respective bands. When Monti Rock III ("Disco Tex") goes I expect it'll be reported as the passing of a gay icon. When Fat Larry died I wonder were there tut-tutting obituaries noting his unhealthy lifestyle? There would be today for sure. But he was very fat.

I think six of those last seven words are superfluous.
