    King Charles III

Pretty sure someone on here shared some inside info they received that it's bladder cancer but not clear on the stage. If it's stage 3 bladder cancer I unfortunately have a pretty good idea in how it's likely going to play out (My grandfather died from it, it was a year and a half from diagnosis to death.)

    Astronauts

He's in a better shape than Buzz Aldrin, which to me would have been impossible to believe even a year ago, but it definitely looks to be the case. Hell, I've seen recent photos of Mike Mullane and he looks thinner than Lovell here despite being almost 20 years younger.

So, How's Your 2025 Shortlist Looking?

I'm not in the DDP and Death By Numbers is my main pool. Like usual I will vaguely hint 5 names I've put in with a description. 90 something British author mostly known for writing fiction. Old Italian businessman who recently stepped down from his company. Singer from a very well known 90's British rock band. An American centenarian who has quite the track record when it comes to surviving, and will continue to be personal repeat pick until he dies. Somewhat known American businessman who turns 100 in 2025.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2025

Feels like the right time to give my 10 recommended picks ranging from well known to obscure for the DL and other dead pools. Empress Michiko - Has been in declining health for a number of years, most recently breaking her hip in a fall this October. She generally seems to be in a worse situation health wise compared to Akihito. Alan Alda - Parkinson's seems to have really taken a toll on him now, in recent videos he's shaking constantly and seems quite stricken in general, my gut says he is in or nearing the end-stage now. Judy Loe - Has stage 4 cancer and lost her husband last January. Artimus Pyle - This is a man who's survived a plane crash, a near fatal motorcycle crash and it seems a heart attack and prostate cancer very recently according to a podcast interview and it feels like we are due to lose a Lynyrd Skynyrd member soon anyway. Bruce Crandall - The current oldest living Medal of Honor Recipient. Seems to have declined a lot recently, was in a wheelchair and looked very thin at the annual convention compared to a year ago. His hands looked discolored too. Luciano Benetton - The oldest of the Benetton siblings at 89, stepped down as chairman from the Benetton group earlier this year and there doesn't seem to be any news of his whereabouts since. Try Sutrisno - Former Indonesian vice president who has been extremely frail for years and was rumored dead back in 2022. Tippi Hedren - Suffering from dementia which seems to be closer to the severe side. Ellen Rometsch - German former model, alleged JFK mistress and rumored Communist spy who has been living under the radar but is still alive at the age of 88, also recently lost her husband. Vince McMahon - Wildcard pick recommendation. Had spine surgery in 2023 and is now rarely been seen in public. In his few recent appearances he seems to be using a cane and looked frail. One to watch in the coming years.

    Hospitalization Pool

And again, this time for severe pain after his flight to Hawaii, for which he stayed in a hospital overnight, nothing serious of course. In fact there's pictures of his arrival to Hawaii although he's the frailest I've seen him in the last four years (which is saying something, as he was already very frail to begin with).

    The Chequered Flag

Probably nothing much, but Tim Schenken (a stalwart of Australian motorsports with successful careers both as a driver and as a motorsport official) will be stepping down from his role as clerk of the course for the Australian Grand Prix. He's 81 now and a few years ago he also stepped down from his role as race director for the Supercars series. Also I want to throw in a wildcard here in Matt Tifft. He retired from NASCAR a couple years ago due to an epilepsy diagnosis and recurring seizures. He's only recently returned to racing but get this, a few months ago he was kicked in the head by a rival pit crew member in an altercation. This kind of luck is probably not something one would want to carry (of course now that I've said that he'll be just fine until the age of 90, but anyway.)

    1. Jimmy Carter

A little too unfair on Paul, wasn't it? Anyway, King Jimmy's officially going for the EGOT after his Grammy nomination according to his grandson and will "definitely not die" until he wins.

    World War II Veterans

Warren Upton's October article claims 18 living survivors, assuming the two who've died on 3 November were counted on that list it would mean 16 claimed left which seems like a realistic number to me. Hoping once we get to a low enough number (maybe 10-12) we'll get a proper documented list with names in the media, just like we had with The Few or the Merrill's Marauders.

    Deathrace 2025

Deathrace Form Guide #12 Allan Lichtman Also known as the "Nostradamus" of the U.S Presidential elections, he successfully predicted almost every U.S election since 1984 with the exception of 2000 and now, 2024. He's also getting humiliated online for his failure. Oh, and he's 77 so perhaps this failed prediction might just be his last one.

Dead. Seems like he was not as healthy as I assumed, one commenter saying he had health problems since before he retired apparently.

Ellen Rometsch (alleged mistress of John F. Kennedy and rumored spy) is still alive as of July 2024. I was just wondering the other day if she was still alive and decided to do some checking. After the whole spy fiasco she went back to Germany and remarried her ex-husband Rolf Rometsch and all that is known was that she lived in Bonn and a journalist tried to interview her in 2013 but she and her husband refused any kind of interview concerning her alleged affair or rumored double life. I couldn't find anything since then and seeing how privately she lives, I wasn't 100 percent sure if she was still alive. Well, I do so more digging and come to find out that Rolf Rometsch died this July. I don't know how reliable the obituary source is but it's based in Bonn where he and Ellen lived and the obituary does mention an Ellen and other relatives who survived him, so I am pretty confident in saying that it's the same Ellen Rometsch here and that as of July 2024, she is alive.

    Hospitalization Pool

So I found out that Ira "Ike" Schab was hospitalized recently according to his fundraiser. The exact timespan hasn't been specified but considering the recent post on him being hospitalized was made on the 25th, and the update of him returning home is posted on the 29th, let's assume he was hospitalized from the 25th to the 28th.

    Astronauts

Jim Lovell did an interview a month ago, is in much better of a shape than I presumed especially considering his age and still seems to be very sharp mentally.

Basilar skull fractures are something almost always associated with violent impacts at high speed and falls along with high speed motorsport or road accidents, are usually the most common causes of such an injury. Assuming he fell head first (especially at a lateral angle) onto concrete pavement I can definitely see how it happened.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

    Ideas and possibilities for 2025

Finally saw some photos taken during the annual Medal of Honor recipients convention including the annual group photo. Bruce Crandall, Tom Kelley and not sure who the one on the left is, are in wheelchairs but out of the three Crandall is the only one who truly stands out as frail (in another photo of him on instagram, his watch doesn't even fit his wrist!). Although Crandall is the oldest living recipient to my knowledge at 91, he was very active and going strong up to a year ago so it looks like he's had a sharp decline. Also, the absence of Jose Rodela despite the fact he actually lives in San Antonio where the convention was held, tells me his condition is bad enough that he's most likely unable to leave his home.

    1. Jimmy Carter

He's in hospice and his face doesn't show any kind of scarring, so I doubt he's using any feeding tube. Whatever might be the case, hope he goes out peacefully in his sleep without any suffering.

I agree with having more westerners appear too, but so far I've had little success with my suggestions despite most of them ending up dying not long after I suggest them.

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

The wiki article says her husband and son were suffering from cancer back in 2015 but it seems her husband at least is still alive. Seeing Wang Zhenyi is 99 years old apparently and in this bad a condition, he's got to be a candidate for the immortals list next year surely.

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

While looking for news on the annual Medal of Honor convention that is supposed to be going on in the city of San Antonio right now, I came across this. Apparently the National Medal Awards ceremony for China took place and two recipients in particular stood out as very old and frail, the man (definitely military judging by the outfit and the fact he does a salute later on) at the 6:51 mark and the lady at 7:18. They were in wheelchairs and had to be escorted to the ceremony, the old military man somehow stood with assistance and gave a speech at the 22 minute mark of the video (potential immortal?) before being taken back to his wheelchair. @drol @arghton I have zero clue who those two are, but I'm sure you would know.
