I have sent in my picks.

I have just recently discovered that two Shuttle-era astronauts don't seem to be in the best of health and who you might want to keep on your radar. Samuel Durrance was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease a year ago and in recent photos he is definitely frail and appears to only be able to walk short distances, using a wheelchair otherwise. Samuel is a payload specialist who flew on two Shuttle missions. John Blaha has become rather frail now and doesn't plan on being in many events anymore due to this, according to a friend in one of my space chat groups who met and spoke with him recently. John flew on several Shuttle missions and most notably spent 4 months in space aboard the Mir space station. I'm not too sure on Durrance getting an obit but then again Millie Hughes-Fulford and Lodewjik Van Den Berg got obits and they are both payload specialists. John Blaha on the other hand would definitely get obits. The early shuttle-era astronauts are definitely an aging bunch, I plan on doing a detailed investigation on their status soon and will update you when I have finished it.

From my experience it's usually something like this. An obscure actress, late 80s with an unusual dual nationality (something like Ecuadorian-Canadian, Brazilian-German, Filipino-French etc) who starred in like 3 or 4 films in her immigrant country. American Football player, mid 70s who played in two teams with at least one of these teams being the Green Bay Packers or Oakland Raiders. South American poet usually from Argentina or Brazil in their 70s or 80s. Scandinavian Olympic athlete who doesn't have a photo in their Wiki page. Highly ranked and decorated British military officer, late 80s to mid 90s. American politician in the House of Representatives of his/her state, late 60s, died from cancer. Japanese artist in their 60s or 70s that somehow has a wiki page even though almost nobody knows him/her. Indian actor, early 60s, died of a heart attack.

2018 was pretty solid too. You had George H.W Bush, Barbara Bush, Stephen Hawking, Billy Graham, John McCain all world famous names. Stan Lee, Charles Aznavour, Mark Smith and Neil Simon all huge names in their respective fields. Lord Carrington, Denis Norden and even Tessa Jowell all household names in the U.K.

Dutch-American chemical engineer/astronaut Lodewijk van den Berg dead according to several Dutch articles. He flew on the Space Shuttle Challenge on the mission STS-51-B. He's the 3rd member of that crew to die within the last year. His death leaves only Frederick Gregory, Norman Thagard and Taylor Wang alive from the STS-51-B crew and all three men are in their 80's now. Interestingly enough the STS-51-B crew had the oldest average age of a crew for any American space mission at 48.6 years.
