Actor Derren Nesbitt is 87 years old, seems to be pretty frail too. Feels like one to watch in the next couple of years.

Read Any Good Books Lately?
The Immortal replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Mike Mullane's Riding Rockets is a fantastic book to read if you are into spaceflight, gives a great insight especially of the Space Shuttle era and what it was like being an astronaut in that period of time. -

Deathlist Dreaming
The Immortal replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I had a weird dream last night and I wasn't even drunk. So it starts like this, after the Queen died and Charles is made king, the Queen's ghost suddenly arrives at my house grabs me and takes me some random realm where I see the Queen is no longer a ghost and in that realm I also meet Phil Taylor from Motorhead, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Alfred Hitchcock, actress Eva Gabor, race car driver Roy Salvadori and one another woman who I couldn't recognize and I tell them about the DeathList. Then Phil Taylor tells me that it will be Jean-Luc Godard who dies next but Gabor, Salvadori, the unnamed woman and Ginsburg tell me Ted Kaczynski will die next while Hitchcock goes with Marianne Faithfull. I think we all then talk for a bit before the Queen tells me "One more thing I must tell you, Coldplay's Chris Martin is the actual king of England." before the dream ended. -
I'm very late I know, but R.I.P Her Majesty. It's gonna be strange seeing Charles face everywhere instead of the Queen's.

How about "God claimed the Queen".

No update after being taken off ventilator, granted Salman Rushdie hated the spotlight and all but his agent should have said something by now, especially as Salman Rushdie still has plenty of severe injuries including the high chance of losing his eye and is remaining in critical condition. A full recovery seems like wishful thinking at this point and I think it's pretty safe to say the Salman Rushdie that we knew is gone. It's only a question of how fast or slow the decline will be. Definitely should be considered for the DL.

Here's an article which goes into more details. https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/music/john-farnhams-cancer-diagnosis-came-after-wife-jill-forced-him-to-go-to-the-doctor/news-story/115069bbb4148c2e7d1639b16ea1db92 Apparently there were 26 surgeons involved in this operation, which was to remove part of his jaw in order to remove the tumor, and then perform reconstructive surgery on the jaw, the operation itself went successfully according to a family friend. Only time will tell how things go from here though.

Politician Ralph Nader is 88 years old and he's actually not been discussed that much here surprisingly. To be honest a name to watch for in these next couple of years.

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

Euthanasia I'm guessing? -
I'd probably distinguish them by branch of service like what Wikipedia did with the last surviving WWI veterans. So the last surviving British Army veteran of WWII, last surviving Royal Navy veteran of WWII, last surviving Royal Air Force veteran of WWII, last surviving British combatant of WWII and the last British survivor of WWII. Though it's going to be a while before we get to this stage since we will definitely be seeing a couple of WWII veterans living to their supercentenarian years.

Petrol Heads To Petrol Deads
The Immortal replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList Forum
Let me think here. Paul Walker disintegrated with his Porsche back in 2013 after a high-speed crash. Baseball player Oscar Taveras lost control of his Chevy Camaro on a highway and died in 2014. Not quite a celebrity but there was that Youtube star who used his McLaren as a method of suicide back in 2018. I know there's more but I'm only doing the ones who crashed in fast cars. -
RIP. I wasn't around at the time when Olivia was in her peak popularity but my mum was a huge fan of Grease back when she was in secondary school, even recreated Olivia's hairstyle and all. She's going to feel gutted hearing this.

John "Yogi" Hughes just 2 months before his death, at an event celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Lisbon Lions win. From left to right are Hughes, Bobby Lennox, Jim Craig and John Clark. Willie Wallace is the only surviving Lion who wasn't at that event.

How come this years deathlist is doing so poorly?
The Immortal replied to Charles De Gaulle's topic in Dead Pools
It's not so much about the lack of deaths this year, but rather the excessive deaths in 2020/2021 from the pandemic. That's my observation as someone who has followed the DeathList since 2016. Assuming the DeathList picks up more hits in the winter like it usually does, it seems like an average year. -
Gilbert Howland died not long after this post https://www.stripes.com/veterans/obituaries/2022-05-23/merrills-marauders-gilbert-howland-obituary-6106656.html. Russell Hamler and Gabriel Kinney are the only ones left of the Merrill's Marauders now. Another crew that's down to two is that of the USS Indianapolis, with Harold Bray (94/95) and Cleatus Lebow (98) the only living survivors.
