Somehow could not find any racing drivers who died on April 16 or 17. Today though, marks 32 years since American racing driver Bob Drake passed away in 1990. -

Today's driver death of the day featured is Art Cross, who died 17 years ago on this day in 2005. He was best known for being the first Indy 500 "Rookie of the year" back in 1952 having finished 5th that year, he also finished 2nd in the 1953 Indy 500. Cross lived quite a long life compared to a lot of his colleagues, dying at the age of 87. -

Starting kind of my own side thing here, called "Driver death of the day" in which I'm gonna post about some random race car driver somewhere who died on this day starting from today until the end of the year. I might miss couple of days in between. Today's driver featured is Markus Hottinger, who died 42 years ago on this day in 1980 in a racing accident at Hockenheim. -

Former Indian cricketer Nari Contractor had surgery to remove a metal plate inserted in his head 60 years ago, after a bouncer from Charlie Griffith caused serious head injury which ended his cricket career. In "stable" condition according to article but the man is 88 years old, so you never know. -
They say celebrity deaths come in threes and we have had a hit April 2 (Estelle Harris) and April 3 (June Brown) so naturally, I say April 4th.

So they will kill off Dot Cotton now, I believe.

Going with Pele this time.

Well known Ferrari designer and engineer Mauro Forghieri is still alive at age 87 years old.

Well, the Jeddah GP is going ahead on Sunday despite the fact there was a missile attack at an Aramco oil depot near the track done by Yemeni Houthi rebels. Oh, and not to mention the track itself was under major controversy from the drivers for being too dangerous. Let's see how this goes shall we?

Fucking hell. I can't believe this. I attended one of the Foo Fighters concerts in Manchester a couple of years ago and got to see them pretty up close. Taylor was a fantastic drummer.

I have had my fair share of relationships, don't think I have ever been dumped anytime though. But one of my close friends in university, his GF of 2 years cheated on him in a rather fucked up way. It turns out she was secretly having affairs behind my friend's back for at least a year, with a married man 22 years her senior (she was around 20, the married man was 42), My friend only found out about this because the man she was having affairs with, forgot his watch at her place and when my friend noticed this he suspected something because he had a different watch and that's when he looked through her phone and saw the cheating messages. Needless to say this messed up my friend pretty bad, he had to go into therapy for quite a while.

The whole euthanasia thing kind of brings me to a bit of a debate here, if a celebrity announces that they will undergo euthanasia/assisted suicide on a certain date (let's say Alain Delon announces he goes for euthanasia on January 10th, 2023), is it illegal to pick that celebrity for a dead pool? I'm sure expert DeathListers have some kind of policy on this but as a rookie DeathLister I would like to know.

Sort of a similar situation with my granddad, for the longest time he's been trying to find a tenant or buyer for his father's old farm house because he's not able to take care of the property now due to his age, so now he's offering the whole property for free for any refugee that wants it. -

Recent pic taken by her brother. https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/wendy-williams-pushing-through-fog-26421039. Definitely not sitting in a regular chair (you can see the black support behind her shoulder, indicating the chair is different from the regular brown chairs in the photo), though I can't tell if she's in a wheelchair or not.

This guy was on the DeathList the year I was born, that's pretty crazy, and he's still alive, that's also pretty crazy. Yeah, I know, I'm one of the younger DeathListers around here.
-
I'd say he's not looking great, but not looking that bad either, don't see him needing a thread at the moment.

Since we are talking about fast talkers, it's probably a good time to mention Steve's arch rival John Moschitta Jr, who is best known for his acting work in commercials, and voicing Blurr (the fastest talking and fastest driving robot) in the original Transformers.

X-15 Pilot and Shuttle era veteran Joe Engle in a wheelchair and seemingly frail in a recent pic.

The two athletes in the famous "Black Power Salute" photograph back in the 1968 Olympics, Tommie Smith and John Carlos, are both still alive aged 77 and 76. -
I got engaged recently, and I learned an interesting tidbit from my fiancee that her grandmother is a good friend of former Olympic sprinter Dorothy Hyman, who won 3 medals in the Olympics including a silver medal for the 100 meters in the 1960 Rome Olympics. An interesting choice for a death pool team, I'm going to try and get some more inside information if I can and update you on this.
