Just to be absolutely clear, I'm not complaining about no more weekend updates. I'm complaining about a government that thinks cancelling them should be 'because of low television ratings.' I'd absolutely love to see the whole lot and the media farce surrounding them scrapped. There about poll ratings, nothing more. Not to mention the government forcing MPs - many of whom are shielding - to be on the parliamentary estate in order to participate in discussions and the first piece of legislation they bring in front of this new parliament being fucking boundary reviews. Because that's a high priority now, it just sums up the self-serving cult of personality, anti-democratic nature of this shower of shit of a government.

Now wants to scrap remote voting and exclude shielding MPs from participating in debates remotely. Also using the famously horrendous pairing system to enable them to vote rather than just using the exist remote voting systems

I don't think any of us are saying it's ok that protesters or shooting police officers, and they should be going to the same place as Derek Chauvin for it - preferably the most roach infested, violent prison in America. The issue was more your assertion that these protests were wrong because nobody had a protest when a black pc killed a white pc. The rarity of the latter in comparison to the former, is partly why there was no protests. As horrendous as it was, it's not a nearly everyday occurrence, situations like Floyd's death sadly are. The rioters, looters, and criminal scum taking advantage of this protest movement for their own ends, and perverse satisfaction in destruction, should be prosecuted and dealt with by the military. However - whilst I take the point re Covid - dealing with those issues should not result in those who have took peaceful protests to be hurt - as some videos of these events has shown happening. By all means send the police after violent protesters, but if police or military are instigating that violence - you've got bigger issues at play. Edit: Also I don't know if it's because you're translating but you keep discussing Pacific protesters, i think you might be trying to say pacifist protesters, but the more common term in English language is peaceful protesters.

The small minority are not protesting peacefully, and that should be dealt with. That doesn't mean you should ban the vast majority who are protesting peacefully....

The fact it didn't, doesn't make the fact this event did wrong.

Jesus Christ, you think American elections are free and fair and remotely democratic? Oh to be so ignorant. Protest should never be reserved solely for 'scheduled democracy', whilst the looting is wrong - the hundreds of thousands of American's who protest peacefully have the the right to protest peacefully at any time through mass gatherings - not just in a ballot box in an election where the loser wins. Hilary Clinton - 48.1% Donald Trump - 46.1% Hilary won the election....

This exposes what I suspected all along, that these daily briefings have nothing to do with fucking updating us on this pandemic, and everything to do with monopolising the air time to try and keep the governments poll ratings up - it's astonishing they'd admit that so blatantly though.

I was more responding to this. If you think that people protesting the death of a black person at the hands of police is racist because the much rarer event of a white person dying at the hands of police didn't instigate protests is racist against white people on the part of the Black Lives Matter movement, then there's real nothing I can say that's admissible on this forum or would have any chance of getting through the pre-moderator protest to describe my thoughts on this matter beyond what I've said above......
