Off to a roaring start, this list. Is a blessing for him though, he seemed to be in just permanent suffering.

When Jimmy actually carks it, this forum probably ends up going nuts.
-
Crikey.

Alright, time for this to happen again. My neglect shan't continue however, your new host is @wannamaker! (I only made the thread to have my name on it, a.k.a. narcissism) Repeating the rules for new entrants: Have a list of 10 political candidates. This includes Presidents, Vice Presidents, Prime Ministers, Deputy Prime Ministers, Dictators, Parliamentarians, as well as losing candidates. (so you can have Jimmy Carter, Dan Quayle, John Major, Nick Clegg, Kim Jong Un as well as Michael Dukakis - oh and don't forget the random MPs and Representatives.) They can be from any UN member state and from any election within said nations. Order them from most likely to least likely. You get 10 points for first place, 9 for second, 8 for third, etc. etc. One extra point is awarded for unique picks. One extra point is awarded for murders/unexpected deaths, as long as you don't commit them yourselves... You can't pick someone who will be executed. (as to be expected) Pick two subs please. And if you've got one with no Wikipedia page, then SEND A LINK EXPLAINING WHO THEY ARE!!! If one of the picks is dead, @ wannamaker when you tell us, please. Entries don't close - join whenever (unless wannamaker changes this) Send entries to wannamaker.

Oh, yeah - that team is nonsensical, as I said. It's just the first people I saw on my Twitter page (I fancied a silly team to see what it'd raise).
-
None, because I think it's a good list and we all know how that goes.
-
I can feel any of these going this year: definitely a good list. Jimmy Carter Pete Murray Alan Greenspan Ethel Kennedy Cleo Laine Noam Chomsky Dennis Skinner Nigel Starmer Smith James Whale Glynis Johns Stanley Baxter Joanne Woodward Derek Draper Denis Law Tom Brokaw Linda Nolan Bob Newhart Louis Farrakhan Esther Rantzen Roberta Flack Prunella Scales Josef Fritzl Ted Turner Sonny Rollins Sly Stone Franz Beckenbauer Joe Bugner

Haha, it was one tweet about the 2022 House election.

As I see others have posted their teams here, I'll pop mine here too! AH THE OL' TEAM Jimmy Carter (JOKER) David Attenborough Dick Cheney Josip Manolic Caren Marsh Doll Jennifer Wexton Hamako Mori Desmond Morris Linda Nolan Yoko Ono Eva Marie Saint Prunella Scales June Spencer Dick Van Dyke Frank Field Ann Russell (TikTok) Iris Apfel Ethel Kennedy Esther Rantzen Denis Law OLD AMERICAN POLITICIANS (OAPs) (THEME: As the title says, it's the elders of America.) Jimmy Carter (JOKER) Jennifer Wexton Glenn Thompson Nicholas F. Brady Dick Cheney Susan Collins Elizabeth Dole Paul Gosar Jim Inhofe Pat Leahy Edwin Meese Nancy Pelosi Richard Shelby Donald Trump Pat Roberts Hal Rogers Pat Saiki Jim Sensenbrenner Daniel J. Evans Alan K. Simpson DYING PROBABLY READS TWITTER (THEME: Literally just the first names I saw on my Twitter page...) Nick Begich (JOKER) Sarah Palin Mary Peltola Georg Gauger (oh, boy, this is a REAL stretch in terms of fame. My subs that didn't make it on: AH, THE OL' TEAM Gene Hackman Mohammad Shtayyeh Alan K. Simpson OLD AMERICAN POLITICIANS (OAPS) Nancy Kassebaum Joe Biden Maxine Waters While the Twitter theme team is nonsensical, the subs were Tim Sheehy, Bob Iger, and Noah Schnapp (though 1 could've made it on if the one I very much stretched the fame rules on was DQed)

Thanks all! Glad to have finally managed to win something: even if it was my (formerly) own pool!

Walters.

Biggest duds are Francis, Draper, Walters and Cheney for me this year. Draper wasn't particularly famous before he was ill: strikes me as too much of a FFBI pick. If he wasn't promoted a million times over, I highly doubt we'd even look at him, even with his illness. Francis & Cheney are plenty healthy. Walters pulled out of one thing and recovered from cancer once, as was pointed out earlier - not a likely hit in the slightest.
-
You know, I think we've got a chance here.

JULIE WALTERS?!

Short of a second death for me on New Year's Eve, I'm on 14/50, which is 1 off my record. Gianluca Vialli (6 January) Hazel McCallion (29 January) Betty Boothroyd (26 February) Nigel Lawson (3 April) Harry Belafonte (25 April) Ted Kaczynski (10 June) Tony Bennett (21 July) Bob Barker (26 August) Bobby Charlton (21 October) Rosalynn Carter (19 November) Henry Kissinger (29 November) Shane MacGowan (30 November) Sandra Day O'Connor (1 December) Eddie Bernice Johnson (31 December (!)) Potentially the most annoying bit of this? One of my subs for the list was Dianne Feinstein, who proceeded to cark it in the year.

Dilip Ku- oh, yeah.
-
WHAT?! I put her on because she was old and no other reason: crike.
-
I'm sorry - you're what?
-
-
Jimmy - though it would be more than annoying to lose the free ticket in 2024.
