  1. I can safely say that was one of my favourite episodes to air in a long time. Definitely better than most of the stuff they lumbered Jodie with (mind, Jodie was brill at what they gave her) and better than everything else thus far in RTD2.

  2. To address the title, 3/4 of them. Hint: not the first one.

Transphobia is just simply being a pain in the arse for the sake of being a pain in the arse, as the statistics around the topic are showing over the years - and Linehan's constant bitching and moaning on the subject makes him all the more arsehole-y.

He's up there with J.K. Rowling as someone who shot their career in the foot by being, as TQR said, an arsehole - and then had the bollocks to decry something that seems basic. "Cancel culture" isn't what happened here: it's the consequence of your own actions.

Though I wonder if there are ANY Carter appointments still in active service. It's been at least 43 years...

None since February 28, 2021. Carmen Consuelo Cerezo was the last in office. The longest-serving federal judge to still be in office is Pauline Newman, a Reagan appointee from 1984... who is suspended on health grounds because she's 96, leaving the 79-year-old J. Harvie Wilkinson III from later the same year.

  4. Honestly by the start of c. October I'd completely counted myself out and started cobbling together my 2024 team.

Eddie Bernice Johnson getting terrible care at a facility saved my ass here - and what a shame it did.

Thank you for running AFB! Been a joy to watch myself crumble and then bullshit my way into a win.

  5. No way in hell should Sec. Austin be able to keep his job after this one. Not telling the media? Whatever, life goes on. But the President? Your own deputy who's doing your job? Absolutely too far.

Personally though? This isn't a "Biden dementia hurr durr" moment - and it'd be a misconstrued way of looking at it to say the very least. The fact that the NSA (Jake Sullivan) didn't know nor did Hicks shows this is a problem on Austin's part, rather than a "we ought not to tell the puppet we have". Also, describing Trump as more 'with it' than Biden is a joke. The "World War II" comment, the "Jeb Bush invaded Iraq" comment, and the "eat their young" one? His own mental health right now is questionable. Nonetheless, this isn't the "political rantings" thread so I'll shut up now...
