    From Cleric To Relic

Improving, sadly. "In her post she explained the miracle saying, “This type Surgery, “too risky”, Maybe that… but “That procedure can cause this.” “ If we do this, then possibly that.” “We must consider this!” Then GOD SPOKE…And again I say “Be Still and Know that I AM GOD; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10. Sometimes that is all we have. Saddle pulmonary embolism Had to bow!.”" New video of Ilia II on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/100059706245040/videos/765571661115999 He looks more frail than ever, unable to move his arms and needs two people to support him to walk or even stand. Mentioning KH Ali Yafie: Ultrafrail, old islamic scholar who has been hospitalised atleast twice in recent years, both times seemed on his last legs. In 2018 he was apparently on ventilator with a severe lung infection, in January 2020 he was hospitalised at the same time as his wife and younger scholar KH. Salahuddin Wahid. Out of the three only he got out of hospital alive, despite being the frailest one. And he's still alive. Is Estonian neopagan priest Addold Mossin still alive? Now 102, not seen since 2016 as far as I know when he looked very frail. Makes me wonder if he's another one being kept alive à la Zsa Zsa/Dilip or already dead.

    Political Frailty

Here's a video of Sharad Pawar and Mulayam Singh Yadav, both sometimes mentioned on these forums, voting: HD Devegowda, Prime Minister 1996-1997 also voted, looks quite frail now and wheelchairbound with bloated legs: Seemingly no sign of multiple old CMs (Achuthanandan, Parkash Singh Badal, Shibu Soren, BC Khanduri), L. K. Advani or Pratibha Patil. No Lalu Prasad Yadav either as he's in hospital. O. Paanneerselvam casted his vote in a PPE kit to avoid spreading his covid. MK Stalin also voted, has already been discharged.

Indian Presidential Election today, great form spotting opportunity... Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh makes rare appearance, wheeled to cast his vote: Mulayam Singh Yadav also voted: Pradipta Kumar Naik, Odisha opposition leader, also in a wheelchair and looked very frail, apparently had an oxygen cylinder with him. Couldn't find a better picture:

    Ideas and possibilities for 2023

Thought of this again, Sonny Rollins is 91. Battled heroin addiction for years in the 1940s and 1950s. Can't name another nonagenarian former heroin addict. He's had pulmonary fibrosis for around ten years, average life expectancy 2-5 years from diagnosis.

https://www.guadeloupe.franceantilles.fr/actualite/politique/henri-bangou-l-ancien-maire-de-pointe-a-pitre-a-100-ans-620814.php Henri Bangou, Guadeloupe/French politician, Mayor of Pointe-à-Pitre for 43 years is 100 today. NY Times article from 1974: https://www.nytimes.com/1974/12/13/archives/giscard-meets-protests-in-guadeloupe-criticized-by-the-mayor.html The President (Giscard d'Estaing) was given a friendly welcome by local crowds who had been permitted into the airport for his arrival this morning. But the mood changed when he visited Pointe‐à‐Pitre city hail where Mayor Henri Bangou drew cheers from the crowd when he criticized metropolitan France's neglect of her overseas departments. The mayor told the French President that the unemployment rate in Guadeloupe was much higher—at 25 per cent—than the rate in metropolitan France. The crowd roared its approval when the mayor said the people of Guadeloupe did not receive equal treatment with the French in France.

    1. Jimmy Carter

Siphandone has a net worth of an estimated 600-800 million USD. He looked like shit in December but he's the richest man in his country, he could be able to/could try to keep himself alive for a year or two à la Stanley Ho if he or his family wants to (but again, so could Jimmy). There's currently seems to be some power struggle in Laos, he probably wants to live to see his family in power again. However as far as I know Siphandone hasn't made any public appearances this far this year. We'll see, but I think Jimmy will die at #2.

    Political Frailty

A few centenarians more, don't think I've mentioned them in this thread: Shi Ping (1912) former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress. 110 in two months. He sent a letter to Xi in 2021. Already very frail and lived in a hospital back then. There's some debate about his birthdate but it seems to be November 1912. Zhang Lixiong (1913-2024) Deputy of the 5th National People's Congress. Survived a serious illness that required him to be fed through a nasogastric tube around 2020-2021. He was hospitalised for atleast multiple months, according to some sources a year. Ma Shitu (1915-2024) Writer, but also politician. Of course we all know him but he fits into this group too due to his political career. Jian Xianfo (1916-2022) Vice Minister of the Electric Industry around 1979/1980-1982. Also held multiple smaller positions. Widow of general and author Xiao Ke. Fan Xixian (1917) Guangdong local politician. Taiwan: Hsu Li-nong (1919) Pro-China Kuomintang politician. Former Vice-Chairman of the National Unification Commission. Abdullah Timan (1919-2022) Uyghur Kuomintang politician. He was alive in 2019. Zhong Yiren (1921-2023) Taiwan independence activist. Miraculously survived colorectal in 2011.

    Military commanders

Algeria's Minister of Mujahideen, the President's advisor and the Minister of Health visited three old Algerian military figures of the Algerian War today. 1. Colonel Tahar Zbiri (Arabic wiki, French wiki) 93-year-old who served in the Algerian War as the leader of Wilaya I 1961-1962. And the first Chief of Staff of the Army of Algeria 1964-1967. He's been in very bad health for years and had a bad case of covid in 2020. Seems a bit better than in May, though. 2. Youssef El Khatib/Youcef Khatib (Arabic wiki, French wiki). 89-year-old who was the leader of Wilaya IV 1961-1962 after the death of Djilali Bounaâma. Later a Bouteflika critic. He's in the middle and seems to be doing great for his age. 3. Djamila Boupacha, now 84, militant who attempted to bomb a cafe in Algiers in 1959 and was arrested for it in 1960. She was raped and tortured, and this case gained wide attention, especially after she brought her torture case to trial with Tunisian-French lawyer Gisèle Halimi, and after publicity by Simone de Beauvoir. She gained support of multiple prominent French artists and politicians during the trial including Pablo Picasso. Pretty much a national symbol. Seems to be doing fine.

    Hospitalised!

The story is on his Wikipedia page: Stalin is the third son of 2nd Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and DMK Chief M. Karunanidhi, and was born to his wife, Dayalu Ammal. Stalin was born in Madras, now Chennai, on 1 March 1953. Karunanidhi was addressing a condolence meeting for Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, who died only four days after his child was born, and thus decided to name his son after Stalin. OneIndia's 2018 article: It must be recalled that Communism was popular in India in the 1950s and 1960s. The popularity of Communism dwindled in India after the disintegration of Soviet Union. In the 1950s, several leaders of the Communist Party of India upheld Stalin as a great leader, even years after his death.

    Who are the immortals?

Too many miraculous recoveries, these people just don't know how to die! First Ma Shitu, fat 107-year-old cancer survivor doing exercise in a garden, Satya Mohan Joshi attending events after surviving around 5 deadly diseases and I saw that report on Yuriko's health a month ago. And Saalumarada Thimmakka recently got a rank in the Karnataka government. What's next, Leslie Phillips breaks a weightlifting world record?
