Manolis Mavrommatis suffers gallbladder infection, undergoes percutaneous cholecystostomy. Currently expected to be discharged in around two weeks, it seems.

Jayapataka Swami back in ICU and weak according to his facebook:
SpoilerHealth Update on
H.H. Jayapataka Swami April 23rd 2024
Hare Krishna dear disciples and well-wishers of
H.H. Jayapataka Swami
Maharaja,
Please accept our humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Guru Maharaja
Guru Maharaja showed some mild improvement in his strength after almost 20 days in hospital and expressed his desire to take darshan of deities and see the devotees. As a birthday gift Dr Sarin allowed him to attend the Vyasa Puja ceremony at ISKCON Noida under the condition that he returns back to the hospital in a few hours.
Before going to the ceremony he was also asked to speak as a chief guest at one of the academic sessions in ILBS and Guru Maharaja spoke about the health benefits that one gets automatically because of the regulative principles of Krishna consciousness.
The energy that was present before going out of the hospital seemed to be short lived, because when Guru Maharaja came back, he was feeling extremely tired and had very low blood pressure. In fact, the dialysis session that was scheduled after returning back from Noida had to be called off.
The doctors started some medicines to increase his blood pressure that night and performed a slow dialysis the next day which went on for 16 hours in the ICU.
After the dialysis session Guru Maharaja was shifted back to the room and gradually his Blood pressure stabilized without any additional medication.
A nephrologist from Hyderabad, Dr Dhanalakshmi flew in to Delhi to help with Guru Maharaja's dialysis therapy. Pranesvara Gaurachandra prabhu from Sydney, Australia, a dialysis nurse, is also present here. Both of them have helped with the difficult dialysis session last night and share their valuable inputs with the treating doctor team in ILBS.
Even after the dialysis session there is still significant water overload in the body and various medications are being tried to relieve Guru Maharaja of it.
Also, Guru Maharaja’s lungs are still weak. He is still requiring intermittent oxygen therapy.
In the current condition, discharge from the hospital also seems to be quite a challenge. But even in this condition Guru Maharaja continues preaching and inspiring people. He has been distributing Maha mantra cards to Doctors, nurses, and neighbouring patients all day long.
We are humbly requesting each and everyone of you to chant as much as possible for Guru Maharaja's speedy recovery and stabilisation of his lungs and kidneys so that he can return to Mayapur.
On behalf of the JPS Heath Team and Seva Committee,
Mahavaraha Dāsa

A few days ago he left the hospital to attend and talk at a ceremony. I'm guessing he's catched a few more infections there.

He did (image), has crutches but looks amazing considering he was the first sumo wrestler over 200kg, has had previous health issues and will be 80 in June.
With him there's Konishiki who in my opinion looks worse despite being two decades younger.

Apparently decapitated by his own? Good move. The Donetsk militias have enough food supply for a week from his carcass.

Matti Vanhanen awarded counsellor of state title. That title has only been awarded to nine people and the last time was twenty years ago. Might be a sign he's in declining health.

Palitha Thewarapperuma, Sri Lankan politician and former Member of Parliament (most known for starting two major fights in Sri Lanka's parliament, bringing a blunt knife there and trying to stab other MPs, attempting suicide by hanging while demanding the authorities to admit 9 children into a public school, chaining himself to a truck while fasting...) expectedly dies from electrocution in his own home or garden.

Some time ago I went through the living Russian governors and their longevity was depressingly bad. Balakshin was the oldest by a big margin, IIRC. Don't know who 's the oldest now.
They can't really compete with their Chinese counterparts.
Of republics...
Alexander Dzasokhov, "President of North Ossetia-Alania" 1998-2005 is still alive at 90. He should be the oldest.
After him, possibly Aslan Dzharimov, born 1936, head of Adyghe 1992-2006.
There's a few living born in 1937, including Dzharimov's successor Hazret Sovmen and Tatarstan's iron ruler Mintimer Shaimiev (who was widowed five years ago, but seems to be doing great for his age), and then a larger amount of ones in their early 80s.
Of oblasts...
I think allegedly corrupt former governor of Oryol Yegor Stroyev is the oldest governor of an Oblast now that Balakshin is dead, close second Eduard Rossel of Sverdlovsk whose father was killed by NKVD during Stalin's Great Purge.

I'd put dancer/tv face Aira Samulin (96), maybe politicians Jaakko Iloniemi (91) and Elisabeth Rehn (88), singers Pirkko Mannola, Eino Grön (both 84) and Danny (80) in the same group, all very notable in Finland and people who'll likely die once they stop appearing on tv/aren't interviewed anymore.
Pirkko Mannola hospitalised with bell's palsy.

Chinese ambassador visited Than Shwe, his old deputy Maung Aye and former president Thein Sein a week or two ago. They definitely hold a lot of power behind the scenes. There's a new image of Shwe in the article, he doesn't look particularly ill or frail at the moment.

Finnish opera singer Hilkka Kinnunen not dead, interviewed for a local tv show recently.
Interesting personality. Says that "art has been her life" and that if she hadn't become an actress she'd have killed herself. Her house is full of art from different parts of the world, different eras. Following her career she's lived in Florida and Helsinki, here she shows letters she's received from household names (Obama, Trump, Soros, RFK, DiCaprio and others)
