Oscar Wyatt (98, obese wheelchairbound US businessman of Coastal Corporation. Suffered a stroke over a decade ago, looked horrible last year.)

Oscar Wyatt had a big party with his wife earlier this month or late last month (in July he turned 99, she turned 88 and it's been 60 years since they got married).

Also...Eric Tsang, Hong Kong film industry legend has been quite ill recently. Cancer, aneurysm, swollen feet, gout, serious covid some time ago and on top of all this he has or has had a drinking problem.

Strelkov Igor Girkin has during the last few days said that Putin should step down and Prigozhin should be hanged.

To the Strelkov Igor Girkin saga, he's having "health issues" behind bars. (Russia arrested him last month as he criticized Putin a bit too much) His wife said he's sharply deteriorating but Girkin has according to Russian medias said he's "doing fine" and just a bit numb.

Why do you think he will die off the radar? There are many articles talking about his 102nd birthday (current age) and there are pictures of him in his old age

I don't think he will necessarily die off-radar but he might. He wasn't famous before those August 2022 articles and I can't find anything on him since. He was 101 at the time but they added a year to his age.

More on Karthyayani Amma's condition: Apparently she's somewhat recently suffered a stroke and she's now completely bedbound and partially paralysed.

Time for a new list of Indian centenarians/notable centenarian claimants, this time a smaller and "frailer" list than the one I posted in October 2021:

    Up to 1919

Swami Sivananda (1896, probably ca. 1925-1935 - ) Yoga teacher, once in a while hospitalised for "checkups". No matter how old he is, he isn't immune to aging and has been getting frailer.

Saalumarada Thimmakka (1910/1911/1913/1919/likely ca. 1928 -) Environmentalist. Very frail with a health history but now attending events nearly every week. Impressive even though she's much younger than she claims to be.

Fauja Singh (1st of April 1911/likely ca. 1928 -) Runner. Frail and skeletal for multiple years.

Kewal Krishan (27th of July/4th of August 1913 - 1st of April 2023) member of the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly of India. Hospitalised for surgery in 2019, hasn't apparently left his house nearly at all during the pandemic. Can't find much recent news.

Pappammal ("1914", likely later -) Organic farmer, frailish. Probably born 20 years later. Wheelchairbound.

    1920-1921

Mollie Lentaigne (6th of May 1920 -) Medical artist, British but born in India so counts half

Mani Kumar Chetri (23rd of May 1920 -) Cardiologist. Bed/wheelchairbound with a blanket covering his legs in one recent image and has declined a lot since his 100th.

Thanga Darlong (20th of July 1920 -) Folk music artist. Decrepit and suffering from some kind of neck injury last year.

    C. R. Rao (10th of September 1920 - 23rd of August 2023) Mathematician, statistician. Unable to hold a knife properly and very frail on his 100th, doesn't make appearances anymore as far as I know.

Jang Bahadur Singh (10th December of 1920 -) Bhojpuri folk singer/wrestler. Has a long wikipedia page but would his death make local news? Name for search purposes जंगबहादुर सिंह.

Mangala Kanti Roy (1920? -) West Bengal folk musician and 2023 Padma Shri recipient. Very likely fraudster.

    N. Sankaraiah (15th of July 1921-) Politician, former Tamil Nabu Legislative Assembly member. Very thin with swollen feet, but just released a new book and still active in politics.

    1922

Karthyayani Amma (1922 -) Woman who passed literacy exam at 96. Suffered a paralysing stroke after her claimed 100th, bedbound and very frail.

    P. Sabanayagam (7th of June 1922 - 22nd of June 2023) Politician. Diabetes for half a decade and now wheelchairbound, suffering from complications.

Rustom Sorabji "Rusi" Cooper (15th of December 1922 - 31st of July 2023) First-class cricketer, longest-lived first-class player in the history of Middlesex County Cricket Club. Said to be very ill.

I won't add the 1923 names (atleast yet), as far as I know none of them have reached 100. All of them seem to be May-December births. There's also a politician called Shankar Dev, born 1922 marked living on wikipedia, but I doubt he's alive.

    Updated.

There's 5 left from 1920, but I think Mangala Kanti Roy is another age fraud and Jang Bahadur Singh might die off-radar. Thanga Darlong has been in declining health for more than two years and was unable to attend an event due to illness earlier this month.

    4. Spain (Including "less notable" names up to 1927)

    ...

Jordi Pujol (1930) President of the Government of Catalonia 1980-2003. Ancient and doesn't look healthy.

Pasqual Maragall (1941) Barcelona Mayor 1982-1997, Catalonia Govt President 2003-2006, Peter Falk's disease since 2006/2007.

Jordi Pujol accidentally says his successor Pasqual Maragall is dead. He probably meant he's "still alive but gone", but still quite a slip.

  6. Comic book illustrator (X-Men, Web of Spider-Man), inker Dan Green who worked with Romita Sr and Jr, John and Sal Buscema, Steve Ditko, John Byrne, Jack Kirby, George Pérez and many others, was dead on Wikipedia's 2023 deaths page but it's been removed now.

Edit: Apparently there are many mentions online that he's dead but I can't find an obituary anywhere yet.

  7. So Zagallo and Buthelezi were improving but there's not been updates in two days. Zagallo's "improving" update said they don't have a discharge day for him ready yet.

Thimmakka...there's been radio silence for more than a week now.

Nritya Gopal Das made an appearance two days ago, it's on facebook. He's wheelchair or bedbound round the clock and if you look closely at some of his images there's some tubes around. He's still suffering from massive kidney problems. He has a designated successor who's around 20 years younger, as does Thich Thanh Tu. The successors don't really look healthy either.

From my suggestions on page 20...(they're all 40+ of them still alive)

Wanda Półtawska made an appearance some days ago (it's on facebook). Her hand has bandages, but she doesn't look much frailer than before.

Akihiro Miwa and Tep Vong have made appearances recently. Miwa is suspected to be very ill and was on Japan's TV late last month looking extremely thin. (He's been "very ill" for the last four decades) Tep Vong who's still recovering from a series of strokes in 2019-2020 looks frail, but his designated successor (Non Nget, នន្ទ ង៉ែត, who is aged somewhere between 87 and 101) is apparently quite ill and followers have been asking prayers.

Now the last two living people born in 1915 with a English wiki page are Ma Shitu and James Clayton Flowers

Does have any one else? Wiki Foreign?

I think the only other "notables" with foreign wikis are:

Yan Renmei - ROC socialite. Juliana Young Koo who lived to 111 was her aunt.

Constantin Năstase - Romanian Major General and WWII vet. (He was promoted from Brig. Gen last year)

I remember this was discussed some time ago when Carmen Herrera died. Back then there was Shitu, Clayton Flowers, Crook, Frances Hesselbein, Masao Horie and Jozef Caban. As mentioned there's only Shitu and Clayton Flowers left of them now. I think these four are the last even somewhat notable people born in 1915 with Ma fucking Shitu being much more famous as the other three combined.

  9. Armi Kuusela, Finnish-born American model and charity worker, the first ever Miss Universe (1952) and the only to ever have been crowned with the Romanov Imperial Nuptial Crown, 89 today :birthday:

    kuusela.thumb.jpg.2b31ce6000b7174d9977f0e1e6b8bd34.jpg

She was born to merchant Aarne Kuusela (1902-1969) and Martta Kyrö (1903-1963) in Muhos in 1934. In May 1952, she won the Suomen Neito beauty pageant and for winning got a box of chocolate, a gold bracelet and two tickets to the US from Pan Am. A month later she left Finland to the US, at the age of 17, getting some more valuable prizes for winning: a cream colored convertible, a diamond watch and seven-year deal with Universal Studios (that she rejected, only appearing in two movies in her life, a Finnish movie "Maailman Kaunein Tyttö" in 1953 and an unmentioned Filipino movie later.)

In 1953 she met and married a rich Filipino businessman Virgilio Hilario, with who she had five children, living with him in the Philippines until his death from a heart attack in 1975. Hilario died only some hours after returning to the Philippines from a quite rare visit to Finland. Three years later, in 1978, she married US diplomat Albert Williams, her current husband. They lived in Spain and Turkey before eventually settling in California. After Hilario's death Kuusela has very rarely visited Finland, most recently in 2014.

    Some mentions:

*Kuusela has been picked in the DDP atleast once - by "Not Gone Yet, But Still Forgotten", in 2013.

    * No Finnish reporters were anywhere near California when Kuusela won. Max Jakobson who was the first Finn to report her win was a London correspondant for Uusi Suomi and he heard it from Daily Mail.

*Later on there has been claims that CIA was involved somewhat, as Pan Am's contact person in Finland was Paul Suni who is known to have worked for the CIA.

*Most recently she has been in local news after her son Jussi Hilario died in 2020 from cancer.

*As seen in the image she was crowned by actress Piper Laurie, who's also still alive.
