  1. I heard somewhere that he's been joking with the hospital staff, any good sources that have confirmed this? I'm also interested in what that joke (or those jokes) was/were about.

I remember that once in the 90s, was it in 1991 or 1992 he said, when asked if he wanted to live to 100, "bits and pieces are already falling off me." Was it his 70th birthday?

    Similarish thread imo.

Reminds me to put John Brodie (whoever he is) on my shortlist for 2022 though... :D

I tried to search for one but didn't find anything, thanks for letting me know that exists. I'll use it in the future.

    Quit starting threads then, cunt.

No need to be so annoyed and angry about the amount of forum threads. If you don't stop wasting your time complaining about them, I'll at one point create one for Than Shwe.

Walther Sommerlath (the younger one and Queen Silvia's brother) dead at 86.

Just around a week ago I read about him in the news, he moved to live on some royal place with his son and his son's two daughters. Both he and his son were divorced. Silvia looks pretty rough in the new photos, we'll probably soon see more losses because both the queen's and the king's siblings are aging and most of them aren't very healthy. Also, there's Marianne Bernadotte.

Queen Silvia was in hospital for a while after a fall at her home.

Also, forgot to mention that Walther's death cause was dementia. Their mother also had dementia.

Surely, if we’re doing this, we’ve got to talk big names right?

The main reason I started this thread was to see what others with more experience have achieved, I hadn't even heard of this website until the pandemic.

  5. I'm very new here but i've already got a few somewhat unexpected hits in some pools, of course these aren't comparable to those of people who have been here for a longer time but here's some:

    - Stewart Prestley Blake. He was 106 so it was not very unexpected, but died 12 days after I picked him as a sub in the centenarians deathpool 2021 after my original pick, Dovid Soloveitchik died before reaching 100.

    - Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri. I picked him in my first pool, the one with 250 names,  as I used to follow updates on him pretty often. Kind of a bad pick as there have been rumors of his death for years and he could've died off the radar but didn't. Not my worst pick though, that price would go to Mirzazhanov Atoyevich

  6. He wasn't at the funeral of his brother. Apparently in such a shitty condition he couldn't attend. Attending the funeral would've probably been a death sentence for him anyways, not only because of the covid but also because he'll probably turn into dust if exposed to air
